247 "Crystal Ball" predicts Blades to UF. We're leading for Miami Southridge CB Shawn Davis also. Says we've lost ground on Tampa DE Zachary Carter after his visit to Clemson last weekend:

The 247Sports Crystal Ball has seen plenty of action in recent days with a trio of Florida Gator targets.

Pasadena (Calif.) John Muir Top247 cornerback Elijah Blades, who commits later on Wednesday, has seen a flurry of Florida predictions coming in as news of his pending commitment broke. Arizona had a few predictions earlier, but those have all flipped to the Gators now.

Another cornerback that has seen a string of Florida predictions roll in is Miami (Fla.) Southridge's Shawn Davis. The ultra-aggressive 5-foot-11, 190-pound still has one prediction for the hometown Miami Hurricanes, but the rest point to the Gators and the latest intel says that's where Davis will head.

The Gators are trending in the opposite direction for Tampa (Fla.) Hillsborough Top247 defensive end Zachary Carter though. After a multi-day visit to Clemson last week, the Tigers have received a series of predictions for the 6-foot-4, 250-pound Carter. The Gators still hold the edge on the 247Sports Crystal Ball for the time being though.

6'2 170lbs CB, Elijah Blades, from Pasadena, California John Muir HS:

Gators land uber-talented cornerback in Blades

http://florida.247sports.com/Article/Analysis-Elijah-Blades-commits-to-Florida-Gators-45929132

From a straight raw tools perspective, there aren’t many better, if any, when talking cornerback recruits in the country than Pasadena (Calif.) John Muir standout Elijah Blades, who gave Florida verbal Wednesday afternoon.

The fastest man at February’s Nike Football The Opening Regional in Los Angeles, the 6-foot-2, 170-pound Blades ran a laser-time 4.42 40-yard dash.

The combination of size, speed, length and ball skills is elite.

Blades flew under the radar for most of the process as he tightened some things up off the field but no denying what he can do on it as Florida addresses one of its biggest needs in the 2017 recruiting cycle with a talented player that brings instant impact ability because of all his athletic gifts.

Blades, who had just one offer from San Jose State in February, used a big spring to see his offer list eventually include the Gators, Arizona, Colorado, Nebraska and Utah.

In March in Las Vegas at the Pylon 7-on-7 National Championships Blades used his great speed to be a playmaker in the secondary getting his hands on multiple footballs a game. A two-way player on Fridays that also makes an impact on special teams, Blades is an aggressive player with good instincts and ball skills. 247Sports ranks him as the No. 13 cornerback in America.

I could easily seeing Blades playing corner or nickel at Florida and he’s just as comfortable in press as he is playing off.

Why are we taking California players? Everyone knows a California 4 star is only a Florida 1 star. Mac sucks.
