BMWs and Audi's are the same way. No dipstick.
I'm pretty sure that GA doesn't know the difference between "oil change" and "scheduled servicing which includes an oil change."
Im actually embarrassed. You read about it.
I get it filters, etc. It's anot oil change. Anyway not my problem anymore. My ex will have to get robbed from now on.
Is this coming from the person who brags about his pool and his jet rides with billionaires. Kettle-->Pot
You called it.
Many automatic transmissions these days are sealed units with synthetic fluid. You never change or even check the oil. If there is a leak or it starts slipping it gets maintenance but the oil is in there for life.
I don't know -- apparently Amazon will sell you a dipstick tool for $12.99 plus shipping.
Here is what one person had to say..
I've only bragged about my used Corvettes. Don't recall ever mentioning my pool and have never been on a jet ride with a billionaire. Now, I was forced to meet Jimmy Carter while sitting on the tarmac on a plane in the late 90's. Here's the full story on that:
For my cheap Jetta, the dealership wanted $600 for the 60K service. I laughed and walked out. went on line got all the filters, etc...$80 and 3 hrs later (I am a little slow). The fuel filter is a little pita. My breaks are still fine (about half way) sitting at 140K miles.
Yeah, you can easily order filters and parts on Amazon and do scheduled service yourself now for a fraction of the cost. YouTube is your friend.
I trade them in before they need the expensive servicing.
I'm kinda shocked you didn't know who he was.
Came on here to read the walmart hate and come away even more thrilled that my company gives me a car and i don't have to deal with all that maintenance **** anymore
Every time I've gone. You just live in a dump of a city.

at 22 you did not recognize Jimmy Carter?
Nope, not at first. Felt pretty dumb about it. You have to remember he looked like the mummy - nothing like he did in office. That was pushing 20 years ago and that old dude is still alive somehow.
Interesting how many thousands of oil workers are losing their jobs and how many oil companies are going out of business, but walmart closes some stores and everybody loses their minds.
What's interesting about the whole $300 oil change that avatara brought up is that it only costs that much (if true) because the car is specialized. So it takes specialized tools and people with specialized training to do the job. Skilled vs. unskilled labor. Mechanics who work on German autos for a living go thru lots of training and receive certifications which prove they have the special skills to do the job. Not anyone is qualified to do the job, which means there is a limited supply of workers. Therefore, they are paid more money. Walmart is completely unskilled labor. It takes almost no skill or training to do that job. There is no shortage of supply for these workers. The pay is always going to be low for this type of job compared to jobs that required competence.
I dont care if about store closures. They can all close as far as I am concerned.
Yeah, Av... I did not get where he was coming from on that either...
