He would be great on the support staff! Especially...since he already knows the kids, coaches, system, and how everything works. I like Summers and believe he was a good coach (once upon of a time) but that time has passed. Dude is absolutely deadweight on the recruiting trail and a AVG OL coach so we need to go ahead and demote him or boot....ASAP!!!

Agree with this. And we need a bigger support staff anyway!

Yeah it does, and it probably pertains to facility upgrades and a bigger support staff. The one thing I will give Mac credit for is that he has seemed to finally get the ball rolling on upgrades to the facilities that Foley neglected for soooooo long. I think it will take awhile for our facilities to be competitive with fsu, let alone the upper echelon of the SEC. According to what I've heard Shane Mathews say on local sports radio in Gainesville, our facilities our probably at best like 10th in our conference. TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!!!!

Problem is, from what I've seen of the plans for the new Football Only facility it is behind the times before we even break ground. Looks like it will be small and sounds like it will have only the basics. The $100M price tag that is thrown around includes improvements to the Baseball and Softball  facilities.

I think that part of the problem is that we are land locked on campus. The two available spaces are the small area west of the practice fields, where the facility is planned, or the larger area north of the stadium. The area north has the downside of being further from the IPF.

Personally I would have taken out the parking lot directly north of the parking garage and built a state of the art facility.

The right answer is to bulldoze the ODome. Its a heap anyway. Rebuild it to the north of University where that old hofel used to be.

We should have secured the neccesssary property years ago.

You mean the building that just underwent a major reconstruction project and is set to reopen in a few weeks?

He's talking about the state of the program...maybe there is hope after all.

Yes. How hard is it to bulldoze an overgrown tent anyway?

How do you demote Summers?
Matthews has been talking the disadvantage of lack of facilities pretty much every week it seems. Has been doing school visits with his son. He is getting an earful of the priorites the HS kids are using to make their decisions. Where your relatives went and academics ain't it.
