It was because he was offered by 10 other schools and Mac realized last minute he was a good D coordinator and we had an open spot on our roster so he gave him an offer...really came down to us and Bama

That's kinda what I thought but didn't want to go out on a limb and come right out and say it.

They may have behind the scenes, not just to the public. We all know coaches do not think, nor give credence, to whether the general public knows what they are planning. We all typically get coach speak, all the while they make the plans behind closed doors. :scratchchin:

On a side note, did you ever think we'd have a former Cane as a top assistant at UF.

About time.....see Mac is taking his sweet ass time making moves, hopefully Nord, Nuss and Summers are fired before Easter!
He's afraid it's going to run off all those kids that just love Nord and Summers. I couldn't even say that without laughing.

I wonder if having sidehat held him back some. I mean he is known as a good recruiter but has yet to produce. Something has been wrong.
Could you imagine getting a recruiting visit from Sidehat and Butters. I would just shut the door

He's really the right choice, despite his past propensity to wear orange and green. Unless we had a knock them dead other option, he is the clear choice. I can think of any available CLEARLY better option and doubt one would come here even if there were one.

This is a critical year coming up and we will have less talent than we've had for a very long time. If there's any hope of this staff turning it around, we will need an overachieving defense next year. We don't need to change schemes and change language for the kids right now. The transition needs to be as smooth as possible and frankly almost anyone would be an upgrade from Sidehat.

I don't know why you only highlighted linebackers. I'd like him to go out and get all of them.

It is amazing how much time we spend trying to get people out of Alabama. Donkeys are creatures of habit apparently.

No, no, no. That is now supposed to be MY line. Kidding aside, congrats to Coach Shannon. Very good defensive coach and good person. I wish him well.

My sincere apologies for stealing your tag line.

@DerekTysonESPN: Randy Shannon worked w/ @CoachPartridge at Arkansas, wonder if Florida will try to find a way to get Partridge on staff. Excellent recruiter

The colors mean nothing. I'm asking him to go get everybody on the D side of the ball. You want the O side also.

Mac keeps the special teams coach in spite of a track record that screams something is not right and then delays a month in promoting the obvious pick for DC. I can't get my head square with Mac's way of thinking.

I think he confounds many of us.
