Bart - you're old school. Why not just use a straight razor and one of those brushes to stir up a batch of shaving cream?
And then just slather on some of this:

I actually have 2 tubs of shaving cream 'soap' and a brush, but I hardly ever use them. Normally in too much of hurry to use shaving cream.

I have the exact same plan as SAS and love it, by far the best shave I've ever gotten and since the switch from the Gillete Mach 3 four months ago, I haven't cut myself once which is unheard of for me.

Brad, just because SAS and I are on the every other month razor plan doesn't mean its the only one. You can have them send you a 4 pack every month if you want, there's a variety of replenishment options to choose from. If you have ever considered it, give it a try, will be the last time you switch, I guarantee it.

 Yes, I completely understand their program, replenishment options, etc. I have looked into them, just never met anyone who has actually used them.

So why do you love them? The quality, the price, the automatic replenishment?

Great question. For starters, its just as good a shave as anything ive ever gotten with expensive razors and creams/gels/etc. I would actually say its probably the best b/c, again, to this point 4 months in I haven't cut myself once. Until 4 months ago I would nick myself at least once a week.

Second is the cost for what you get. Its as good or better than anything Ive used and extremely cheap. I was using the latest gillete razor with refills that cost about 35 dollars for 4 in order to get a decent shave. DSC gives you the razor for free and 4 pack refills are only 9 bucks, and that's if you choose their top of the line one. The mid grade one is only 6 bucks per 4 pack. I picked up the mid grade version as a backup and it does quite a good job as well.

Finally the convenience. It may just be me but I always find that my blade is pulling my face and then go to swap it only to find that the one Im using was the last one in a pack. Its great to have it sent to my front door and never be in a pinch for a razor. If they did this with deodorant Id do it as well. Nothing worse than grabbing your only stick and realizing its completely out 30 minutes before you have to be at work.

Gotcha. That's why I said the price was comparable (actually almost exactly) to what I have setup on Amazon subscribe. You could do your deodorant that way too. We have TP, papertowel rolls, coffee, razors, cleaner, toilet scrubbies, several other pantry items, AC filters, batteries... on a subscription. I've compared everything we get to the price at Walmart, and we smoke their price. Plus it all magically shows up. The 16th of every month is like Christmas. Except I have to pay the bill.

Can you say Lorena Bobbitt. I enjoy a good pedicure. The foot and leg massage that goes with it is awesome.

I have always wanted to do the full shave at a barber shop. However, most don't do them anymore unfortunately. I don't have a regular barber because I normally cut my own hair about every three weeks and when I do go to a barber shop it is normally unscheduled and I happen to drive by and say WTH, I feel like having someone else cut my hair and clean up the old neck.

Quite honestly - it was a once in a blue moon thing ("real" barber).
Took way too long and unfortunately did NOT include this:

This is what I use - Gillette 10 pack disposable.
300.jpg

I really hate shaving so I'm happy to be in the same boat as Squatch - don't have to shave but 2x per week. And I rarely use shaving cream (takes too much time) - a little hot water on the face after getting out of the shower usually does the trick. But when I do use shaving cream, I prefer the Barbasol original.

This. With slight adjustments. Shave while in the shower, use bar of soap and quick rub face where I'll shave. I'll remove the sensitive strips from the disposables.

I have used expensive razors up to $25 with 5 blades, electric razors of all types (rotary, straight), and the best shave I get? The cheap hotel razors with the cheap face soap, shaving 2 to 3 times a week.

I just started the dollar shave club too, but at the $6 level every other month. It's a 4 blade cartridge and a very smooth shave. I shave about every 5 - 6 days so I won't use all 4 cartridges every month. Heck, I prolly won't use them every other month.
