Maybe Jake Allen transferring was freeing up his spot...
Allen slot is for Jaylin Jackson. Trash has Burrow's scholarship. However it is not like we dont have a dozen ships empty though. It isnt really an issue.

Mullinz isnt keeping a bunch of "prostyle" (term used very loosely with Allen and Trash) QBs on the roster though.

I don’t disagree with your logic on Franks starting but I’m not as sold as you are. Feel like TrasK has a chance if Franks can’t un-F his brain - and I’m not sure that’s possible.

Burrow played well enough in spring that I can see Urban stringing him along until fall camp when it's too late then going with Haskins. That being said if he does leave, you absolutely take him if he wants to be here. He has 2 years left, can play right away, and basically already knows the offense.

There’s no way Burrows stays, even if he’s offered the starting job. He’d be looking over his shoulder all year and every time he made a mistake the fans would call for the other guy.

Add in that UF has highly respected graduate schools. He can hone for the NFL for 2 years & also earn a fine Masters Degree.

But will he reach that conclusion in time? Or is he too close to the situation to realize what um is doing?

It's getting so fcking depressing every year hoping for another teams back up qb to transfer in and save the day. That said I really hope we get him.

Saw this in an article on The All-American:

Nebraska fans have been keeping a close eye on Ohio State’s Joe Burrow, whose Husker ties run deep — his father was a former Nebraska assistant and his two brothers played in Lincoln.

We do have an advantage in the sense that he knows our system and he'd most definitely be guaranteed the job.

I thought it would be fun to revisit this old thread and compare some stats:

Franks: 188-322 (58.4%), 2,457 yards, 24-6 TD-INT, 143.4 rating. 110 rush attempts, 350 yards, 7 TDs.

Burrow: 198-345 (57.4%), 2,500 yards, 12-4 TD-INT, 127.4 rating. 119 rush attempts, 375 yards, 7 TDs.

Just remember that Burrow's stats include the mammoth overtime game against TAMU. Also, Franks has played 13 games and Burrow 12.

I admit I never thought that Franks would be as effective as he has been.

The pumper in me hopes this is a solid endorsement for DM’s ability to evaluate player talent, particularly at QB. And I agree I wasn’t feeling optimistic about FF’s development, but what DM has done with FF is almost miraculous.

I've watched Burrows in 5 games. To me, Franks fits Mullen's system better than Burrows. Burrows does not like to run.
