Anyone considered Bronco Mendenhall out of BYU? He's coached there for 10 years, taken his team to 10 bowl games, has a .700+ winning percentage, has had lots of solid wins over big-name programs (ask Bob Stoops, Mack Brown and Charlie Strong). A defensive coach but has success offensively. Can develop talent (turned Ziggy Ansah from someone who never heard of football into a top 5 pick in the NFL draft in 3 years). Runs a clean program. He's always said he didn't plan on being a career guy at BYU.

Definitely outside the box, but a coach with a track record of success - any thoughts??

I don't know if I would trust his info or not but he is more likely to be right on who it won't be than who it will be. I think he just gets his info from the other Gator media guys.

We aren't talking to teh coaches, but we can talk to their agents. And it is easier to eliminate candidates right now, then find out the ones who are actually in the running.

Dooley has more connections than any of us. You may not like his articles but can't deny he's more connected than probably anyone on a message board. That doesn't mean he can't be wrong though. His sources may be feeding him smoke too.

And he's winning with a team full of white boys. Imagine what he could do with some real athletes.

Good point. If he's reporting it, it is true. Remember how awesome our fast break no huddle offense looked and Driskel being a first round draft pic? Yeah if Drooley writes it, it is truth.
