And this isn’t our power back.
Its kind of sad to think that I could do 225 10 times as a sophomore and I was 5'11'' 170

True, but he's also a true freshman (17 or 18 years old). He'll be doing it 20+ by the time he leaves UF.

I'm 5'11 170 also....but in my 20's I was closer to 190 and could do 225 15 times. I only attempted it a few times, but 10 was usually easy....getting over 10 was tough.

I'm surprised that's all he could do honestly, as an athlete. 225 for HS kids is a pride thing. I'm not sure how good or bad his HS S&C program was, but even in mid/late 80s we had a pretty good S&C program and the coaches had everyone's measurable's posted on a board in the weight room.

I was focusing on the rate of improvement more than the current benchmark. Again, IC’s current strengths are speed and versatility, not power... but the S&C program is adding that to the list... and it’s only March.

We had a 300 lb graduate transfer offensive lineman, who spent an entire year with Mac’s strength coach, went to the NFL combine and could put up 225 like 10 or 11 times.... This Clement kid is seeing big gains, fast. I like it! As long as he’s not on the Will Grier plan....

I think some on here are getting 225 and 135 mixed up.....

Well it “is” the internet... soooo.... people tend to embellish at bit (I have a 14 inch pecker). Except me. (I have a 14 inch pecker) I NEVER embellish on the internet...

It took me a long time - years - to crack 200. I got 225 up once and was glad to have done the 4 plates, but that was my high water mark.

I suspect part of IC’s gain is in technique.

With a busted shoulder. He tried to do it without surgery, knowing it was his only chance.

Strength has never been easy for me. In my 20s at 6’ 170 I could bench 20 reps @ 135 and max at 225. Someone at my height and weight benching 225 ten times is impressive, and maybe delusional, but maybe I’m just that weak.

Today, 6’ 225. Not in great shape but I just knocked out a 6 mile run. Well, trudge. I don’t lift anymore but I have one of those total home gyms to keep some semblance of tone.

When I graduated UF I was around 175-180 & in great shape. My 2nd tour in Gainesville at age 23-26 I was hitting the Gainesville Gym 4 times a week & running a lot. That’s when I hit my apex lifting. Then I cut to 175 for a trip to the Bahamas with my girlfriend. She dumped me shortly thereafter. Glory days. Lol.

My right shoulder is all fked up. 42 years old and hit around 250 about 6 months ago. Been on a hiatus the last 6mos due to my shoulder. Don’t have full rotation/extension

I weigh about 210. Not bad for a 40 year old guy.
