TALLAHASSEE -- Florida State starting quarterback Deondre Francois is being investigated for an alleged domestic violence incident, according to a report from the Tallahassee Democrat.
The report states that Tallahassee Police responded to an apartment complex in reference to a domestic battery involving Francois at 12:35 a.m. on Wednesday.
Noles247 can confirm through multiple sources that police were called regarding an incident involving Francois on Wednesday. Tallahassee Police had not responded to an inquiry from Noles247 about Francois at the time of publication.
UPDATE (11:05 a.m.): An FSU official responded to a request about Francois' status with the school/team from Noles247, but did not have an update on Francois at this time.
Francois started every game for the Seminoles in 2016 as a redshirt freshman, passing for 3,350 yards and 20 touchdowns to 7 interceptions as FSU went 10-3 and won the Orange Bowl. He was expected to take a significant step forward as a sophomore and become the focal point of FSU’s offense, but Francois suffered a season-ending knee injury in the 2017 opener against Alabama.
Willie Taggart, who was announced as FSU’s head coach last month, said in late December that he wanted Francois to be “around this football team and be with his teammates and be supportive” despite being sidelined.
