What is the future of our press?

I’d like to think someone with morals would arise from the ashes but I just don’t see it.

Or our my eyes just opened? Have they always been so full of ****?

        Great article here..

There was a time not long ago when young journalists were taught not to become the story. Apparently, many news organizations have flipped that lesson on its head.

But we are witnessing something more insidious here than media trash talk. Plain and simple, we are watching expressions of personal hatred.

Yes, it’s true that most journalists lean far left and their bias sticks out like so many sore thumbs. That’s been true for a long time, but political bias is an insufficient explanation for the Jim Acostas of our time.

They hate Trump. They really, really hate him. There’s nothing professional about it.

They are not alone. Take a poll of almost any major newsroom in America and the vast majority of those working there, if they are being honest, will confess they, too, can’t stand the existence or the sound of Trump.

Or try to imagine Acosta and his ilk behaving in similarly hostile fashion toward Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton. Keep trying, but you can’t imagine it because it never happened. Both of those pols lied to journalists repeatedly, yet you can bet 90 percent still voted straight Democratic.

Surely it is not just faulty memory. The NYT was once believable. More than half of the country believes that if it involves Trump, it must be his fault.

They press was never what some of you think it was.

            It was always owned.

Owned by plantation owners in south, owned by big trusts in north, then owned by railroads, then owned by robber barons, then owned by radical unions, then by the New Dealers....

It changed from the old 60s hippies
to the currents marxists and unabashed operatives of the new, radical dnc. most actually interned and worked in politics somewhere, for dimocrats of course.

All that changes is who owns the press,

The ideal view of them as objective independent detectives was always been a.lie.

My God, whoever told him the spray tan thing was a good idea is an idiot. The goggle outline is more prominent than ever.

Never viewed them as totally objective, and yes, the ownership does make a difference. (Ochs Sulzberger was slightly more conservative than the editorial staff of the NYT. But the change in the press has been enormous

Excellent article: agree with every word in there.

The author had another good article that called for the Media and Trump to tone things down and act professional that's worth a read too. Basically making the point that the NYT going full "Resistance" has backfired spectacularly since the media has become distrusted and is no longer seen as impartial; and that while both sides have things they could do differently: if the NYT and other media outlets worked to dial it down, then they would start regaining public credibility--and also put pressure on Trump to behave more respectfully and civilly in the process too. His supporters (and many neutrals) don't care when he speaks to Acosta like that or revokes his Press Pass--because it's clear as day who was the aggressor in that scenario and it sure as hell wasn't Trump.
