That's also his subtle way of deflecting thought from him and Nuss to the kids. It sounds complimentary and supportive of them, and while it does point out the obvious as you say, I think he does it not just out of feelings for them, or a show of support for them, but also with the intent of leading listieners thoughts to the kids, ie away from coaches , and into, those poor kids are giving it their all, how can we complain.

This can't be fixed. You can't fix a guy like MacElwain he's been faking it ever since being hired. Offensive guru and QB whisperer - c'mon you have to expend a LOT of effort to actually be a difference maker. That's not him, never was and never will be. Fire Mac and his staff and start over. Firing Nuss and keeping Mac is just prolonging the misery - Mac is the root cause of the problem. Get somebody in here who has the skill set to coach effectively and turn a program around. Our next hire is absolutely critical.
