I looked for a thread about this and didn't see one. Obviously, the guy in Maine is the Darwin winner but Jason Pierre-Paul had $15 mill and even more than that sitting out there. He rents a uhaul and buys a truck load of fireworks. Proceeds then to blow his hands up. He now may miss the first three weeks or more if placed on the NFI list(6 weeks).

You are between contracts and have a pile of cash waiting for you. Why the hell would you put extra risk on your body(which is how you make your living)?

I say you cut bait. He'll never play as well as he did and that was up for debate.

JPP only lost one finger and it is going to hurt him. This corner for the Buccaneers lost two this week due to fireworks.

Which is more valuable to the player, one index finger to a DT/DE or two fingers to a hanging on Corner? JPP has made more money than CJ will every realize at this point. Getting a lesser offer is better than getting no offer.

Pointing fingers isn't the answer here. I think this incident really serves as an index of his maturity level. He needs to get a tight grip on his future, right now, or this whole situation could be the final nail for him. I mean, at this point, even his own schoolmates seem to be distancing themselves from him.

Heard Docs told JPP they could restore the index finger to look proper ( not function) but he told Docs to amputate. JPP
will probably be the same player.
