This is kinda funny....not really....but since they weren't seriously injured, kinda funny:

Report: Vanderbilt players shot after pulling pellet pistol to intimidate armed thief

https://www.saturdaydownsouth.com/v...pulling-pellet-pistol-intimidate-armed-thief/

As the old adage reads, it’s unwise to bring a knife to a gunfight. On Monday night, Vanderbilt DB Frank Coppet learned that bringing a pellet gun to a gunfight can be just as costly.

It all started when Vandy WR Donaven Tennyson attempted to sell his cell phone online, according to the Tennessean. This seemed like a harmless enough venture until the would-be buyer decided to steal the cell phone and take off.

Tennyson wasn’t done yet, however, as he later saw the cell phone being sold on the same online service by his assailant. It was then that he decided to confront the robber. He created a fake account, claiming to be a buyer to arrange a meeting in the parking lot of a local Target.

This time, he brought along two fellow Vanderbilt DBs O’montae Daley and Frank Coppet, all underclassmen. The group brought a pellet pistol with the in hopes of coercing the man into giving the phone back.

This would prove to be costly, as the Vandy players would soon find themselves looking down the barrel of a real firearm. When Coppet brandished the pellet gun, their adversaries with the cell phone pulled out a pistol and a shotgun.

A previous report by the Tennessean reports that two people were shot in the ensuing altercation, both of whom were whisked away to the hospital. Those two nameless victims turned out to be Daley and Coppet. Daley suffered a gunshot wound to his leg, while Coppet was clipped by birdshot on his arms. Fortunately, their injuries do not appear to be serious.

Why not just call the cops?

Wonder if they will get charged?

Should have just brought the cops, unless the "phone" is not really theirs in some way.
