Mac seems like a nice, affable guy who'd Be fun to play for. I guess he just doesn't have the recruiting juice some of these other coaches do. Kirby seems as sterile as surgical instruments but lands the big fish. I guess you either have it or you don't.
Smart seems like such a dooshenozzle. Chimp seemed like he'd be a fun guy to drink with, get him loaded and dare him to smash his head into the brickwall or something. However, Smart seems just like Saban, like you'd absolutely not want to spend a single minute with him.

I was at Publix yesterday and a Georgia alum stood next to me in the deli line and asked me how I thought the Gators would do this season. I explained to him that I am not a fan of Mac and have no prediction on how we will do other than if the offense does not improve in year 3, major changes need to occur on the coaching staff.

He told me that living in Florida he knows a lot of Gator Alumni and fans and the vast majority have my opinion on Mac. The interesting part of the conversation was that he told me Fields is on the Georgia campus this weekend. He said that Fields came a day early and is staying an extra day. I do not follow recruiting so I have no clue if that comment on Fields makes any sense... but, if true Mac seems to have put all of his eggs into the Fields basket... Mac better have a plan B.

I really wasn't going to respond but that was never my point. Mac never lands the big fish. IMHO, he brings a paring knife to bazooka fights. I am going to brutally honest here...my dumper ass thought we were getting Fields...me...T REX. Oh well...
If you're exceptional in hand to hand combat and can avoid the first bazooka shot, you could stab the guy holding the bazooka before he reloads. Either that or stay in close proximity to him and he won't shoot at you because then he'd blow himself up, too.

I find this hilarious given how much better both ACC divisions are compared to the East the last 5 years.
ACC wins per team

2012- 6.67
2013- 7.36
2014- 7.36
2015- 7
2016- 7.71

SEC wins per team

2012- 7.93
2013- 7.93
2014- 8
2015- 7.93
2016- 7.5

Clearly the SEC is better...no question about it

ACC divisions

FSU Division

2012- 6.83
2013- 7.57
2014- 7.57
2015- 7
2016- 8.29

Other Division

2012- 6.5
2013- 7.14
2014- 7.14
2015- 7
2016- 7.14

SEC East

2012- 7.86
2013- 7.26
2014- 7.14
2015- 6.57
2016- 7

What's this about the both ACC divisions being hilariously better than the SEC East?....

What year did the ACC start winning most of the head to head matchups? Has that been going on a few years?

Can someone search back and find the post where Jay specifically stated that if we lost fields, that'd he be officially done with Mac and on the "fire his ass now!" train?

I just want to remind everyone of this fact

Thought I said if we miss on Fields and Corral AND they go to rival schools...

:lmao2:

bro... there was NOTHING about corral or rival schools in that statement. You were unequivocal about it being fields or bust. Of course, that was back when you were 100% sure we had this kid in the bag

Edit, and when you made that post corral wasnt a discussion on the board.

Hard to believe this thread is about to hit 100 pages and all for a guy or guys that will never sign with us, and both likely land at rival schools. Even the most positive Gator fans on here have to see that Fields has eliminated us. Corral seems like a better shot, but I just can't see Mac pulling it off. Plus I get the sense Corral could just be teasing us. I just don't see how Mac can even look at one of these stud QB recruits in the eye and convince them to play in his offense with the lack of offense he's displayed so far for us. Wish we could lock up a decent Plan B, but it will probably be too late before Mac tries.

You have to think a top QB would want to throw to the WRs we have or will have on the roster. If we get Copeland and can get Robinson enrolled, wouldn't a top QB want to throw to these guys. I'm at a loss as to why A top QB doesn't bite.

Other schools have talented WRs also, and most importantly a proven successful offense.
