I'm privileged enough to be in the Panhandle today helping to get people from all walks of life and all political parties to the polls - there are a bunch of people determined to vote despite the devastation brought by Hurricane Michael. They want their voices heard and vote counted.

To all that have done so, thank you.

      Awesome. Love their resilience.

So how did your candidate unpacking go?
Can you share with us your information that helped you decide?

I will not be voting until this afternoon. I would appreciate your input.

Busy today, but I chose not to vote for governor. Both to me were poor choices so I chose to vote for "none of the above" like in Brewster's Millions:

I see there is no Libertarian or Green party candidate in this election like some past ones so that might lead to a few people just leaving the Governor and Senate spot blank.

There were 6 candidates for Gov and one write-in spot. Disappointed you didn't vote for one.

So, by your "logic" I should hold my nose and vote for someone even if I don't think they are qualified to hold the position?

You "unpacked" the information on ALL 6 candidates and NONE of them even closely reflected your views?

Write-in yourself as a candidate then.

Color me skeptical, but for someone who openly opined that he was gathering info on candidates, I find it amazing you didn't actually cast a vote.

I'm certainly not qualified. And again, I did not find an acceptable choice among any of the mainstream or third-party candidates.

And I can vote however I want. Who are you to tell someone how they should or should not vote?

          Puh-lease.

But you didn't vote, at least for Gov and that's your right.

But I didn't tell you HOW to vote.

So, back to the oft-repeated question - can you share with me any of your research that disqualified all the candidates?

What prevented you from casting a vote for Gillum?

What prevented you from casting a vote for RD?

Do share. This is a forum for expressing ideas and opinions. I am and have been interested in yours.

I agree with @GatorAlways . The candidates are all horrible, even the third-party candidates. I don't want any of them to be Governor.

He can vote Rep in all of them and mark No if he hasn't looked at the amendments.

The problem is that SOMEONE has to win....That's part of our political process you ALWAYS have to choose the lessor of 2 evils....

I can confidently say that I believe that the Yale and Harvard grad who volunteered for the navy and worked as a prosecutor will make a better Governor than a career politician who is for providing havens for illegal immigrants who have committed felonies and who is for Bernie Sanders and Bimbo Ocasio socialism. It's not even a contest as to which is the "lesser of two evils".

None of us get everything we want in a candidate....I certainly wasn't going to waste my vote on Trump in 2016.....until I saw the alternative. I've since changed my opinion of him since but that's neither here nor there.....Apathy at the polls is what leads to the discourse we have today. People get pissed AFTER the fact and it leads to 2 or 4 more years of misery for some. I'm not a huge fan of Desantis but he is strongly advised by the POTUS so I have faith he will be OK.....

You could not think of one good reason to vote for Gillum???

I can understand someone not approving of the choices available, but I cannot tolerate people claiming not to know the necessary information that is on the ballot.

That kind of procrastination and impetuousness is inexcusable.

                  But one of them is.

So, like I have done for the past 3 POTUS votes, you select the one who is CLOSEST to what you believe in and stand for.

Or, vote in opposition to a candidate whose ideology is detrimental to your principles.

I'm just going to stop beating around the bush and call it. He's full of $h!t and voted for Gillum.

                    :rolleyes2:
