        Not a surprise, California which has so much wealth in money, talent, and nature is the most unequal state in the country. They have massive poverty and homeless. Run by Dems at almost every level. Cities are run by corruption around the country by mostly dems. Most Republican voters would not put up with the level of corruption and incompetence that many dems exhibit.

            Kansas is poorly run, or they made an error in giving folks tax cuts. Poorly run means corruption, excessive compensation to say unions, and other bad management issues. I don't know for sure but I think it is giving tax cuts that did not create economic activity to offset them. I could be incorrect.

            They wrongly believed that tax cuts would create jobs and bring in industry. What they forgot is that they live in freakin' Kansas!

                All I can come up with is that the timeline of this article loosely tracks with the collapse of the coal industry, which was Kentucky's money tree.
