Chip Kelly is the kind of man who enjoys sitting down and having a glass of non-alcoholic beer with Tim Tebow while discussing the glories of college football.

"The Secret Life of Chip Kelly". --- everything you ever wanted to know about Chip Kelly

Much thanks for this articalgelistickexpealodoshius, Joe.
Odd covering so much on a prize we ain't gonna win. But he's fascinating.
Still, a long write on an undisclosing private person who's so interesting to the interested.
I'll try to do chipper-justice in doses as crisp & cropped as Kelly would give.=

1) Ask Chip a question, you get a life-lesson as an answer.
2) CK is transformational and fast at it.
3) Kelly puts culture over process and talent. "Buy in" to win out or you're replaced.
4) Working faster wins faster.
5) Change the stale way it's always been done = revolutionary innovator.
( to be continued)

(continuing summary of too long article)
Profiling Chip Kelly =
7) He never ponders what folks think of him; he only ponders football.
8) Brilliant FB mind at warp-speed.
9) His ideas are clear, crisp, just like his speaking.
10) CK is all alpha ... so if you put money on Kelly it's an alpha bet.
11) His system requires an FB-smart, fast-think QB.
12) Chip is 3rd of 4 Kelly sons. (That's good family culture.)
13) At age 17 Chip told his H.S. coach that he wanted to be a coach.
14) Believes that the best athletes should be on the field even if it requires tweaking his schemes to get them there.
15) CK's offense designed for warp-speed that cause mayhem that defenses can't understand or keep up with.
16) Monitors players diets & sleep. (Does that involve a curfew?)
17) Thinks espres' de corps overall beats play schemes.
18) In front of the media camera Kelly uses impish sarcasm. So his body language pranks all.
19) 4 years HC at Oregon = 46-7.
20) Reporters can't know him, he won't slow down for them to lock in. CK "Don't write on me, write on the team."

    Walking Off The Map

Chip is actually a great guy despite what the media says.
I worked at a group home for people with disabilities. One of them was a huge duck fan. If the game was close, i was afraid he was going to have a heartattack. Loved his Ducks. He was in a wheelchair, had medical issues and was abandoned by his family. He wrote a letter to Chip, and he didnt only respond, he and some guys from the team came to his home and hung out for the day. The media somehow found out and showed up. He wasnt to in to them being there. Chip waited for the media to leave, then he left. He came back an hour later by himself with a check for 10 grand for the guy in the wheelchair, and his roomates. He also took the huge duck fan to a closed practice and hung out on the sidelines with him.
I ve had alot of respect for him since that day. He made the kids year.
