Where will the defense rank at the end of the regular season

So where does UF's top 10 defense fall to this year

  • 1-10 (F you - I have faith)

  • 11-20 (Some fall off but not really noticeable)

  • 21-30 (Oh do we have a defense? couldn't tell over all those points we're scoring)

  • 31-45 (DT's there are no DT's - Law prolly)

  • 45-hell (The T-rex zone)

So we did a poll for the offense - very depressing - and you call yourselves Gator fans. Now let's do one for the defense. We' lose some talent, we have some unproven talent, and we're thin at spots but with Handy Dandy Randy Shannon running the show we are in capable hands.

Offense will be worse then ever and it will take a toll on a young defense.

I thought last night when I saw this question brought up in another thread that we'd probably drop about 10-15 spots this year. Hopefully we gain more spots than that on offense so we can make up for it and still win the SEC East again and get another shot at Bammer.

the T-rex zone? :bwahaha:

31-45 for me. I think we'll have a problem stopping the run at times due to our starting DTs being worn late in the game and our freshman DTs playing like freshman. Hopefully Polite reaches his weight goal. That would be huge, but I don't expect it since he has already gained a lot of weight (about 40 lbs.).

Well this is where I voted 31-45.

In 2007 our defense was 40th in points per game. I expect this defense to be similar to that one but maybe a little better, so I predict somewhere around 30. If we stay relatively healthy, then we could be around 20.

I'd guess 15-20. We lost a lot of good players but it's still our most talented side of the ball, and our LB's and young DL got good experience last year due to injuries. Safeties appear to have gotten a bit better. Corner is a worry due to youth, as well as the lack of depth at DT but I still believe our defense will be top 25 in the country fairly easily.
