In terms of impact last year, Jawaan Taylor has my vote. His physicality and toughness were huge for us and he has the look of a future starting NFL tackle IMO. His play is a big reason that the narrative has changed in regards to the O-line as a whole. I have a hunch that this is the first year we will consistently see dominant play up front for long stretches of games, maybe for the first time since 2008 or 2009. Chauncey Gardner is an honorable mention. He seems to constantly be around the ball and I think he is going to be an excellent DB for us.

I'm going to to predict that Marco Wilson will have a tremendous Freshman season and be one of the best newcomers next season.

    Thoughts?

Jawaan with TJ McCoy as honorable mention. (I think JT is probably the more dominant, but the line really changed when TJ got on the field.)

This year? I sure hope it is Conliffe, Slaton, or Campbell.

We just call him "Nusschamp's Offense" for short.

James Robinson will also have a surprisingly big impact as a Freshman. He may be the most gifted receiver on the roster from a height/weight/speed standpoint and the guy could be scary good if he can stay off the herb long enough to get PT. I hope he can work his way up the depth chart and see the field against Michigan if Callaway gets suspended.

Gardner and David Reese would be fine choices on last years team. I agree Taylor was probably most impressive on last years team. As for this seasons freshmen standout Toney can be a real difference maker in the red zone for us. Having a guy that can get 6 or 7 yards on broken plays will help considering DN play calls in RZ usually leave one scratching their head.

Yeah him on one side Cleveland on other, throw Calloway in there as well, some nice downfield options for a change.

    Redshirt fresh: Jeremiah Moon

    True fresh: Slaton

Moon is so incredibly fast. He allows the defense to be more versatile. I find it hard to pick among the true freshman. I'll go with Slaton due to his size, athleticism, and thinness at the position. One or 2 of the true freshman DTs will play whether they are ready or not.

Actually, we ought to practice "hectic" scrambling plays, just to be real and smart. What pocket pass team does that routinely?

It's a good point. He was solid last year and I don't expect a second year drop off. Most HS don't have the experience he does. He just KNOWS how to hold the clipboard. It is all easy to him at this point.

It really bothers you that Trask could smoke your ass in any competition or event. Your extremely inferior. I know, it hurts. Its ok to vent the frustration.
