Why are people getting banned and threads getting closed?

So basically it's ok to talk about gays, even Fags as I've seen people use this language, but it's bannable to give imagery to what is being said? That thread was just as offensive as the pictures could have been yet Ox allowed the thread. Maybe the OP should have been given a vaca as well?

I didn't mind the thread so dumbass threads might not have been the best explanation. What bothers me is just the banning of Sas on pictures that, if I remember correctly, are not much different than pictures you see of women on this board. I understand people may not have wanted to see it but to be banned for it? I assume the ban happened because someone was offended but if the pictures were of women then it would have received 37 likes and the individuals would have been promoted to mod.

Actually, if you noticed a while back, Ox cracked down on those pictures of women too. He opened up the Saloon where the rules are relaxed a little (still no porn allowed though), for a small site support donation. What Sas posted would have got him banned even if they'd been pictures of girls. They were too NSFW to be posted in the sports forum, much less a whole thread page full of them (about 4-5 if my memory is not totally off).

You may have clarified (backtracked?) on this statement, but it still rings true to me.

The site is only what the members bring to the table and share. Setting aside Ox's need to control what's posted in the realm of safe posting that won't threaten sponsorship, the site is here for the members and is wholly supported by the members and what they raise for discussion. I'm for free speech and sharing of ideas, and have often given my own in an effort to start a thread of discussion which proved wholly dumbass and pointless, not worth having. That said, any members who start threads that invite such site-risking and non-productive materials out to consider "Is this how I want to represent myself, and the site?" before doing so. Same goes for those who reply and send threads into death spirals like Sas did with the pics - "Is this how I want to represent myself, and the site?"

Stupid is as stupid does. I've been there, so I can throw that stone. Doesn't mean I repeat my mistakes.

Geez guys. Every time someone gets a temporary vacation people start screaming and shouting about some kind of unfairness. Sasquatch posted a picture of NAKED men on top of each other kissing. Then he posted 4 or 5 others of MOSTLY NAKED men kissing each other. Honestly, if he wasn't a long-time known member I probably would have given a permanent ban for that, no questions asked. He got 7 days off during a bye week, big freaking deal. I'm pretty sure he also knew he had a vacation coming by doing it. He's probably reading this right now and laughing.

Considering SQ said they were in the middle of moving and were going to be busier than a one legged man in an @ss kicking contest, I figure he knew exactly what he was doing and knew if he got a ban, it wouldn't matter because he was going to be too busy to post much anyway for a while.
