I think she was pretty young when she took over.

And she's been here for a pretty long time. All these years are kind of blurring together for me but it has to be close to 10 years, no?

Yep, and this year was Butler's worst record in the SEC. Third worst overall. She only had one other stint as a head coach (Charlotte for 2 years) where she was A-10 COY one year.
She made the NCAAs 4 times, but never got past the second round.
She played for the Gators (90-94) under coach Carol Ross and coached as an assistant (94-97) under her as well.
Butler replaced Carolyn Peck (who went on to work for ESPN) as head coach for the Gators in 2007.

Agreed about Butler - she had some talent recently and the team trending up, but had to kick a good player off the team in 2015, then the quitter from Greece happened earlier this season and she was a stud guard (we were #23 before she quit). Plus, the SECs always been a pretty good conference in WBB, which makes it that much more tough. Though Carol Ross put the Lady Gators on the map and tore it up while coaching UF (and Butler) 247–121 (.6712). Impressive. We need another like her.

That Greek kid fckd the team. She was the PG, leader and more. A half game suspension and she quits. This was going to be Butler's best team. Amanda was that very tough coach but maybe not the recruiter and teacher she needed to be. I hope they get a good one.
