I get all that. But I dont understand how it is legal. They are usually WAY out of the batter's box when they hit the ball. Or maybe there is no rule about stepping out of the box or on the plate in softball.

I'll need Pasty to dive deeper into these girls slapping balls around in their box.

Sometimes you will see a slapper called out for stepping on the plate but all (nearly) are left-handed and are stepping toward 1st base. I think that one foot has to be in the batters box. Actually I think you see more called out by being hit by the ball when out of the box.

Not that earlier play matters but our girls have already beaten Michigan softball twice this season.

2-1 in the 2nd game and 7-4 in 25th game.

Oh earlier play does matter. We beat Michigan twice, and Lauren Haeger didn't pitch either game. Michigan must be crapping their pants knowing they lost to us twice to our JV pitchers (no offense to Gourley and Ocasio). We'll be fine.

Most of the girls on softball teams aren't all that interested in slapping balls. They'd rather try to hit it hard to get it into play, hoping to take advantage of a muff.

I don't think there's any doubt that the two best teams made it to the finals.

Gee no weakness but two back to back errors. Seemed like bad luck at the time and I have seen these plays not be errors but outs. Without these errors some of the great plays would not have been needed. Simple!!

Lets win two more games and get another well deserved NC.

Good luck to the Gator Girls! Michigan looks tough and primed so the Gators will need to bring the A games. I hope Haeger can keep Michigan off balance and that Florida actually manufactures some runs and not just rely on the long ball.

Ugh! Can't stand this announcer. She's the female version of Harry Doyle.
