I imagine there are some players who feel similar.
From what I've seen of the players, I don't get the sense that the players were that fond of Mac. When Champ left it almost started a mutiny by the players. They didn't seem to bat an eye at Mac's firing.
FIFY. But I agree, not much love for Butterteeth. He destroyed both the offense and the defense.
honestly nobody ever questioned Muschamp as a person.. He couldn't figure out the offense so he was let go.
I think he would. He was too friendly with the players it appeared with all the arrests etc.
No doubt there was a mutual respect and love between him and his players. This did not help Macpussmeier at all. Not a big fan of WM but he did care about his players. It was about him not getting it done offensively. He just has some people skills with his players. Mac not so much is any at all.
Willly seems to be making progress at USCe. Seems to have the world by the tail in Colombia.
And those million$ coming in from UF on his buy-out deal doesn't hurt.
'YEAH, GETTING CANNED BY FLORIDA IS THE BEST THING THAT EVER HAPPENED TO ME."
i almost posted that but figured law and company would descend with comments about my champ love. That is a respected man.
He may grow into a good HC with a descent off coordinator.
I bet some, perhaps not most.
Chump was a good dude. Just clueless.
We thought Mac was a good dude, too. Then, as the pressure mounted, his true colors came out and we learned he’s really a lying SOB that has the work ethic of fry cook at a fast food restaraunt.
Man, that's an insult to fry cooks everywhere.
I know Muschamp was happy.... he was collecting a full paycheck from both schools.
Young and stupid. The test is if you learn from your mistakes. He's one helluva recruiter. If he can learn to trust handing it off to an offensive guy and worry about the other things, he could amount to something.
Yeah....maybe....just glad its not here...
The jury will be out on muschamp until he has to hire a new OC. I think he would have had us solid (but unspectacular) with another year, bc I think roper is solid. But Roper will get an offer in a year or two and then we see if muschamp goes 2-for-4 with OC hires or 1-for-4.
As far as the muschamp love from former players...it shouldn't really surprise anyone. He relates to the kids well, which is why he can recruit and anyone that's played knows you like a guy that would strap it up if he still could. That, to me, is a huge reason Frost is #1 on my list. Reminds me of muschamp in that regard, but with a more balanced philosophy.
Further proof of how ridiculous it is for UF to be an on the job training program for head coaches.
We all blamed WM--me maybe more than others--when in reality, that angst should be directed at the one who insisted on hiring him when he did.
The answer is no. I don't think JM ever had that type of relationship with his players. But the same rule applies there. We really shouldn't hate McElwain, because we really shouldn't even know who the guy is.
**** Muschamp and those that wanted to suck him off on the field yesterday, players and staff alike fawning over him, including that big dunce of an FHP trooper.
He is a god damned UGA Dawg. I want the son of a ***** to lose every game and have ZERO success in Columbia.
