Long time lurker. Rare poster...what can I say?Helluva first post after four years.
For my 60th birthday I played in the Main Event (3 yrs ago). I had pocket aces near the end of day one. Guy puts me all in pre flop and turns over pocket nines. I am thinking double up and come back for day two. He spikes a nine on the flop and I am walking back to my room. I plan on giving it another shot when I turn 65.Saw video of the hand from the other day where a guy had pocket aces and went all in against two other guys who both had pocket kings. That's like a leprechaun riding a unicorn and high fiving the Loch Ness Monster.
Poker's an awesome game. I just want someone to bankroll me the $10K to get into the Main Event one year, just to see how far I could get.I used to play a ton online before it was outlawed, now I only get to play a few hours each year when I go to Vegas for a conference. I've only entered a couple of tourneys, but would love to try to enter some preliminary tourneys and win enough to enter the Main Event. I just don't see myself plunking down the $10k entry fee out of pocket.
Love to play and watch - I think it's the perfect game, combining equal parts skill, luck, reading people, and balls.

That must have sucked for the two guys with pocket kings to find out there was no chance for even three of a kind.Saw video of the hand from the other day where a guy had pocket aces and went all in against two other guys who both had pocket kings.
