So.... just caught up - busy afternoon. My take... most agreed it was a good class coming into today. Don’t think anyone could not be disappointed with today. Overall, class is still good but our repeated woes reared their ugly head again. I don’t see how Mullen can justify keeping Knox, Gonzalez, or English at this point. I know he will but someone needs to start applying some pressure to his offensive staffing decisions. Glad to see my good buddy @ltraz participating so heavily today. Been absent a lot lately. Wonder what drew him in...?:scratchhead:

I've followed this thread as much as I can, and there are some good points from many of my favorite posters.
I can say that I'm a bit dissapointed with some "misses" and I understand that is going to happen.
But damn am I excited about the guys we have! We came a LONG way to addressing the weaknesses on both sides of the line;
Yes, It would be nice to add some top-level talent on skill positions but that is not really our issue.
I still want to build depth there but the O Line is the greatest concern along with the D line, LB, and safety positions.
I think we did pretty well there.

I appreciate the passion but I just cringe when people state their opinion as absolute fact. But I guess that is how it happens in sports bars after a few beers so just SOP here.

I sure wish the Facility issue would be handled quickly. In DM's presser he acknowledged, in a rather subdued way, that it is a concern in recruiting. On a side note, DM looked really tired during the presser. I liked his answers and I think he was as honest as possible. He obviously is really up on the roster management issues and his comment was it's not over yet and check back in 2 or 3 years to see how this class works out. He also said "we will be alright".
Over all, I liked what I heard from DM way more than what the Prophets of Doom on this board say over and over.

Let's go win a meaningless Bowl Game!

Man, I've read thru all 29 pages of this thread and boy do we have some passionate Gators in here. I find it odd however, that everyone gets upset by what was expected. We were never going to flip all of these guys. You guys are well aware of the shortcomings of this staff. So why did you expect differently? If I have a dog, then wake up in the morning and that dog isn't a cat, who's the crazy one in this equation?

I'm not gonna get bent outta shape about recruiting. It is what it is. It'd be insanity on my behalf to expect anything different. And my expectations are always for the guys that publicly commit. All the other guys are just icing on the cake.

Today was very uneventful, but I like the class we have. And unlike most around here, I believe we can compete for championships as is. Some just like to complain and will have you believe we need to be top 3 to compete. That's BS! Look no further than LSU this year. Their kicking a$$ with the talent they have. Recruiting is important but it isn't everything.

Last point: We should keep a running tab on all those who keep bashing Mullen. Makes me think some of you don't really know as much about football as you're perpetrating. Coach Mullen WILL win a national championship here. He's a damn good coach and he recruits well enough to pull it off. We may never become the championship factory that Bama is, but he'll win one. SOS only won one here but nobody complained. Now we're all over Mullen for having similar results. I'm riding with Mullen. Screw you internet talking heads with no perspective about anything. You just get emotional and rant. The guy's doing a hell of a job.

Last final today. Tough but done. I’ve got days to troll you now with nothing standing in my way

If you got time, think you could set up a running thread that features a small swath of “core plays” we run and breaking them down? I’d be really interested in that.

I like Cousin Eddie and think he is doing fine, although I would like a little more pizazz on the recruiting front.

Question for @ltraz, or anyone else more familiar with the transition from HS to college. On McDaniel. Assuming we don’t land any more WRs in this class, and with the number of DBs, could you see him getting a shot at WR? I ask because it’s been noted that he has tremendous speed, and the film I saw of him had him playing offense quite a bit. I recognize the vast difference between playing it at their respective levels, but if he’s an unfinished product at Safety anyway, why not try to mold him as a WR?

Curious to see thoughts on that as I’m not very knowledgeable on that side of things.
We are more dangerously thin at safety than WR. No chance he goes to offense. Fenley Graham though probably

Well fellas I can no longer join those who are bumming about our good-but-not-great signing day. I'm over it. Just sat here and watched my Miami Heat gloriously deliver the first home loss of the year to the Philadelphia 76ers and arguably the world's worst fanbase. Literally their first home loss of the year and yet the boobirds were out in force, for their own team! Despicable. Poor Al Horford for having to play there. But I am pretty damn happy with that result. LET'S GO HEAT!

The NBA starts in June.

Pizzazz huh?

You mean perhaps the occasional WR, RB, LB, or safety?

That is just some pizzazz.
