Are there any fine watch enthusiasts out there besides me?
I came into possession of a Breitling Avenger Seawolf a while back. I recently sent it out to be cleaned and reconditioned and I had a local jeweler size it to my wrist. Well.....
A whole new world has been opened to me! I want to quit my job and become a collector! I am planning additions to my "collection" of luxury, mechanical watches (does one count as a "collection"? ) Learning about watch movements, calibres, complications, makes and models has been a blast. Just the other night, I couldn't find anything to watch on the telly. So, sitting in my comfy chair, I mindlessly picked up my phone and somehow managed to look at luxury watch videos, reviews and articles for over 3 hours!
I'm pretty sure my next major acquisition, when I can afford it, will be an Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean 600M. But I am considering some less expensive models in the interim, among them them a few Sinn models (German, not Swiss), Hamilton, Oris and Zenith. Down the road, a Rolex - which sadly has become something of a cliche even though they make phenomenal time pieces, IWC and Blancpain will get looooong looks. I seem to gravitate to diver models, but some pilot and even racer models appeal to me.
So what say you? Are there any other luxury watch enthusiasts on the board?
