If you knew what 2 years into Mullen would be, would you have taken it?

Ive really never seen this much celebrating a coach finallymgetting a win over Kintucky and Mizzu and still going O fer Georgia, but whatever.
Have you watched us the last decade? It’s night and day, ass. If you haven’t enjoyed the past 2 seasons after the previous decade then you should just hang it up.

It appears DM has put embarrassing losses and seasons behind us. How close is he to his ceiling? IDK, but if he can improve the facilities and recruiting, I'm willing to give him more time.

As to the original question, YES. We were a dumpster fire 24 months ago that could be seen with satellite imagery, even if zoomed out to cover the western hemisphere... so 10 and 11 win seasons in the first 2 years are probably as much as any sane Gator fan could reasonably ask for.
I'll never forgive him for the UK loss.imo he's been better than what we had with Mac/WM but is closer to Zook than Meyer and SOS.

Right now.

If he doesn't beat UGA and LSU consistently and fire The dead weight. 2nd place ,& 10 wins is a hollow achievement. So yes

You really going to harp on this forever???
I thought 8-5 in 2010 was a blip on the radar...same with 7-6 in 2011....then got semi hard about a 11-2 in 2012....and so on. Want to know what those years and every year since then has in common? It's called LACK of balance...
I'll get the full boner when I see the following..
Facilities
Balanced and appropriate recruiting
An offense that consistently moves the ball through the air AND on the ground
A base defense that isn't scattershot all over the place to try compensate for missing basic components
And a mentality that leaves no doubt that we are going to crush the opposing teams hopes and dreams starting on the LOS.....

Really we are not. We still are getting killed in the top 25 in our own damn state, getting a fraction of the talent that dumpsterfire scUM is getting in the top 50 in the better of the two ranking systems and whether we grabbed a couple more than scUM.

It shouldnt even be a question. It shouldnt even be close. In the end we are left debating whether Rivals or 247 is more accurate in predicting the quality leftover low 4 star/borderline 3 star types.

I guess it depends on whether you aim is to catch Ugly, Bammer and Clemson, or be a middle of the pack ACC team slightly better than scUM.

Really we are. It starts with changing the perception in our state. You have um alum calling for a removal of Diaz. You have talk of Norvell getting blocked in SoFla schools and topend players leaving those schools. Again, I don’t really care what a particular ranking says. It is quite obvious that we are trending in the state right now, and that’s not even considering the portal. As I said, it’s not a turn-on-dime moment like 2005, but it’s clearly turning. I don’t think anyone would disagree that UF is winning the state right now.

Shocking that Swonksters isn't giving Mullen any credit or spelling his name right either. No word from Itraz either to bring the positive mood of the thread down. Why are you talking about Miami, Tenn, and FSU? Last time I checked we are crushing each team on the field and in recruiting. I didn't see where either team finished ahead of us in recruiting rankings or beat us on the field these last 2 years. You keep saying that Mullen is a 5 loss coach. Sorry but we have not seen that at UF from him either. Are we where we want to be at 15-0? No, not yet, but we are sure as heck light years ahead of where we were at 2 years ago before Mullen. Time for you to start singing, 2 bits and get up and go! Mullen has exceeded expectations by shaping and molding a down and out program and very quickly at that. He is not done yet either by adding a lot more talent this recruiting cycle and now within the last couple of days with a big time WR and a couple of transfers and still more to come. Its Great to be a Florida Gator! Sing it with me now!

Yes. Things are better and trending upward. Yes we need to win an SEC in next two years but ask the question again in two years.

But again, who should we have hired two years ago? Confused on how anyone would say we messed by not hiring ________ that year. Willing to listen though.

I was glad when Mullen left during Myers tenure and I was not happy when he was hired. However, after reviewing the Spurrier and Myer years there is a distinct difference. Georgia always out-recruited Spurrier but Spurrier always out-coached them. Myer was a ferocious recruiter and typically out-coached them. Mullen is recruiting at a good pace and his coaching is on par if not better than Kirby's. We will not know if Mullen can match Georgia's recruiting and coaching for at least 2 more years. I think a combination of coaching and recruiting prowess will not prove itself for another 2 years. Right now, I hope Mullen will prove to be the right choice even if that makes me wrong for opposing his hire as the Gator's head ball coach..

What are your expectations of a coach at UF?
I'm seriously asking.
If an average coach gets 9 wins and an above average coach gets 10, what would satisfy you?

edit: I'm speaking in terms of wins. Not milestones.

They want to be 15-0 with a margin of victory of 45 points a game. We all do but its not realistic. They dwell on the negative and are never pleased with anything. Heck some admitted that the Ole Miss loss in 08 is what haunts them the most during the NC season.

Swonksters did but later said he was joking. This was awhile back a couple of years ago now.
