I've got some family and quite a few friends over in Louisiana, and know the state very well. I have a love/hate relationship with the place. The fishing and hunting are both world class, the food is amazing, the people are genuinely excellent, and the fact they sell liquor in gas stations (and basically everywhere else you look - I've literally bought a bottle of Weller 12 for MSRP at a truck stop near Shreveport), are all great things.

The government is corrupt as hell, the roads and overall infrastructure are some of the worst this side of Syria, and the fact that I can't stand to be in NOLA for longer than 48 hours due to the stench, makes me sometimes wish it never existed.

As for LSU, I think they will soundly beat Clemson. They've caught lightning in a bottle this year, and have had one helluva season. My prediction on the game: I expect it to be close for about a quarter and a half, but then I think LSU will run away with it.

Thanks.

It seems I am not allowed to pull for LSU as my second team...even though I went there.
I can't like the people even though my wife is from here and ALL my kids and grand kids are here except one..... so I ain't going anywhere.

Most of your assessment is spot on.

Not much worse than the Smell of the French Quarter on a HOT summer Sunday morning.

I can't see Grantham staying...Too much $$$$ money to be had.

He knows what he's getting and so does Starkville.

The media loves the guy's ability.

If he goes, I hope it's soon so we can get a good replacement.

I will not get my hopes up about Grantham leaving. I think he's a hemorrhoid of the gator program. There's no getting rid of him.

Have not read through this entire thread yet, if discussed, ignore me. But, who would we honestly like to target if he goes or do we promote within?

Yep. Exactly. That stench is absolutely putrid. It's like a mixture of raw sewage, rancid kitchen grease, and vomit... I can't take it.

I'm guessing you went to grad school at LSU? If so, I think I know where you're coming from. I have a Masters degree from Southern Cal, and though I casually follow what is going on with the program, I am a die hard Gator first and foremost. I'll gladly wear a Gators jersey into the LA Coliseum or a bowl game if we ever play USC again.

As for your original question about LSU in general, I don't have any real hatred toward them. Sure, LSU is a rival, and a game that I circle each year as one that may very well define the season; but there's no visceral loathing of them that even approaches the level of UGAy or the Semenholes. There isn't a shred of DNA within me that has any regard for those two institutions. If we lost every single game in a season, but ended up beating those two, there'd be a piece of me that would say "tough season, we've got some serious work to do, but... not all that bad."

Yes, LSU for my MS...

However, the only LSU thing I have in the house is my Diploma.

And if UF is not in it, I pull for LSU. The same for the Saints but I follow very little NFL.

My grand kids call me Papa Gator.

I would bet Joe Judge is MSU's #1 target so hopefully he goes somewhere else like the Giants

But I think Grantham may be target #2
