no defense.......on 3rd and Granthem

This showed at ob game too. If he left he would take some young coaches with him, that would suck. But everyone assumes we would get charlie strong as a replacement

I am not all in on Charles as much as I liked him before. Three head coaching jobs and the millions that they bring can turn a fellow's head.

Charlie’s scheme revolves around athletic linebackers. We have 1. Two when Wingo gets on campus.

The Birth of the 3-3-5 Defense

That's a valid point. But given that Grantham hasn't placed a tremendous value on LBs and recruiting has suffered as a result, I think a change in scheme could reverse that trend as well. And now, with the portal being as prevalent as it is, I think getting the right personnel to fit a scheme isn't as time consuming or the uphill battle it used to be. If the seemingly unlikely does happen, I would think we should be ok.

He ran a traditional 4-3 under CUM.

Besides there isnt really any defense that fits our current defensive roster. Every defense needs ILBs and safeties.

With this class we’ve been getting larger DEs. Almost like we’re recruiting for a 4-3 defense.

And they will be ready in three years!

You can play a smaller DT at DE just fine, though.

It's lit.

@Brett_McMurphy: Washington State’s Mike Leach, one of nation’s most innovative offensive minds, will be Mississippi State’s coach, sources told @Stadium. Leach coached 18 years at Texas Tech & WSU. The Cougs’ have had nation’s top passing offense 3 of past 5 years & never ranked out of Top 10

This makes sense to me if you're failstate with olepiss in your head day and night. Piss just went out and got a guy known for offense and playcalling. Say what you will about ole kiffy but odds are he will probably score points. State needed to counter with some real offense of their own. Enter Leach.

The SEC keepin it interesante. More by the day.

Also, can we please change the thread title now? Granthem aint goin anywhere :gah:

That would be a good spot for Franks though...and he doesn’t have to face us and deal with that
