Yep! Another elite program with supposed elite coaching and 5* players goes down. UK favored by 7 points on the road and completely outplayed by a crap team that we crushed. I don't know what explanation can be found for this one either. Duke, UNC, Cuse, Butler, UVA, OSU, UCLA, Arizona, IU, Memphis, UCONN, Louisville, KU, UK, Nova, Georgetown, MSU, Michigan, Maryland, LSU, Tenn, and many other elite, rich basketball history programs ALL having trouble and massive problems this year. But that is just the parity in college basketball when anyone and everyone can lose at any given time. You just never know how teams are going to play and shoot and get upset on any given night at home or on the road. Settle in cause there are more shocks and upsets to be had...

Wow so SC beats #10 UK. Bama trashes undefeated #4 AU. Temple destroys #16 Wichita State. So that is 3 teams just tonight that we beat that beat top blue blood teams. It was determined by many on these boards that those 3 wins we had over those teams were pretty much garbage wins and worth nothing. Not anymore as they are good wins for the Gators resume. Tough to explain away that is for sure.

Saw a stat last night that read - eleven top 5 teams have lost this season to unranked teams.

What's amazing is packing 11 teams into that top 5??
11 weeks in the season so far. 11 x 5 = 55 top five opportunities if teams only played one game a week against an unranked opponent. In weeks they played two or more, obviously the number goes up, and it goes down a bit as not all opponents are unranked.

I’d call my family in Kentucky to laugh. But, the joke is on me. White is still our coach.

No I am just saying that it is a weird season how all the top teams are having tough losses and that any given night a team can get beaten. They are getting beaten by teams they should run off the floor.

This whole season has been bonkers, but that doesn't change the fact that Mike White is not a good basketball coach.

I say it every time the Gators play a road game regardless of opponent. Any road win is a good win. I don;t know why you put such emphasis when one of your so called Elite programs loses a road (or Home) game. There is a difference between an Elite program and an Elite team. I do not know how much college basketball you have watched lately but if you have watched any, there are exactly ZERO Elite teams and I would say that there are never any Elite teams anymore. As you said anyone can lose on any given nite. a zillion years ago when UCLA won 88 in a row that was possible. But times have changed and there are a zillion good players. I would pump the brakes a bit when any team loses a game and try not to draw any comparison to any team we beat or lost to compared to another game they played. Each game is completely independent and you never know what you are going to get one game to the next from the players. It is why the coaching is so important. Coaching does not always mean a W but it is where the consistency starts.

White has to go there is no doubt about that. The beauty of college basketball is that any team can win at any time so you just never know and that is what we are really seeing this season. You do have elite basketball programs with NC caliber coaches all over the place who have multiple 5* players but you just never know how teams are going to come out and play each night. One point I bring up is that we are a supposed terrible team but when we beat a terrible team, we don't really give much credit for that win. Then that terrible team that we beat ends up beating a top ranked team. It helps our SOS and shows that we actually beat a not so terrible team. So that would qualify as a good quality win. In the long run it might not mean much as we could tank the season. You just never know.

Overall you make a good point but... not to nitpick but do you consider LSU and Tenn elite basketball programs?Tennessee has made it to the final four ZERO times, and has only gotten past the sweet 16 once.
