Yes. It is horrible for me today because Rivals just bumped Gervon Dexter, the guy I said this about on July 2:

Ive said repeatedly I don't really give a damn about stars for OL and DT, bc it is the hardest position to scout and scouts tend to be wowed by skinny linemen who can dunk basketballs. I've probably said that 1000 times by now.

Every now and then there are guys that just stand out, like Gervon, or Dominique and Sharrif, but most are just works in progress and you are only guessing about their drive in the weight room and their edge/meanness on the field.

Give our current roster I just don't give a damn about a 200 pound DE. Even if he is a 5.8 and our current guy is a 5.7.

I do care about stars bc obviously these guys should be watching tons of video and camps. Generally I will defer but sometimes I look at a kid and say "I just don't see what they see in that guy" or I just don't care about their ratings bc like now, a position is well past full.

I never say "just trust the coaches" bc obviously, like last year, coaches get desperate and clearly our scouting department (now almost all fired and some who were holdovers from the last regime) couldnt be trusted either.

I don't trust 247 at all bc they use the Oxrageous types who run the 247 boards purchased to capture forum members and they are anything but objective.

Of course, most of us have--as Donkey has repeatedly expressed in his posts.
And he's correct about the failures of this staff and the recruiting.
It does appear to be getting better, but is it too late? Time will tell.

This kills me. Is it too late? What the actual........We were 10-2 then 11-2, recruiting had gotten better every year. No not where it should be but with who we should finish with and portal we are a fringe top 5 class. Unless you are getting Urban, Dabo or Saban who exactly do you want? My gracious maybe we are as bad as Dooley says sometimes. We honestly couldn’t have had a bette first two years realistically, and the recruiting trend is legitimately going up and 21 looks even better. This is why Spurrier left. And if we go 11-1 next year and lose to UGA some of you knuckleheads will say “see can’t ever beat Georgia time to make a
Change”. I don’t know why I post no one will change their mind i guess I’m venting because it just gets SOOOO old. I’m up in Ohio so message boards are my Gator news outlet but man.
