See response to Doug. I’m curious about his QB recruiting comment. Those QBs looked no different to me. They were used differently but I have little doubt he could have had them batter away need be.

I don't think Haskins, Burrow, or Braxton Miller could have been battering rams. They could run if needed, but not battering rams. Now, at UF, Brantley was neither (couldn't run at all, bad fit all around).

He's probably talking about Ohio State, where he brought in a new staff and tweaked the offense. His QBs at Ohio State weren't full fledged battering rams and he had NFL sized RBs.

NFL Sized RBs yeah but he still ran the QB a whole hell of a lot

Brantley made a bad decision choosing to come to UF, it was really off on his skill set.

At Ohio State? His QBs ran, but they were more read options, not the way he ran Tebow (and the little we saw of Newton). His RB's at Ohio State had 20+ carries/game. At UF, that was the QBs job.

The major key is right there, carry distribution.

Saw an article somewhere the other day that said Zach Evans may be visiting late Feb or early March. And will be making. decision not to long after. I thought UF had moved on from him?

Well in his defense he did have Tebow back there taking snaps for a majority of his time coaching here.

I think if we have a light day today (less signings than originally thought) - and it looks like that's the case - we'd take him the second he wanted in.

Haskins - 6’2/188/PS and Miller 6’2/185/DT; Newton 6’4/232/DT and Tebow 6’3/217/DT

Yea, I can see that. Looks like he went for smaller guys who threw better. Probably faster or quicker too. Oddly enough, our recruiting has been scattered. AR is 6’4/230/DT but EJ is 6’4/179/DT (all numbers listed are from Rivals during their recruitment). Interestingly, Del Rio is 6’3/203/PS. No doubt he may grow but he is not listed as a DT, a first for Mullen recruited QBs at UF (non-family tradition version like Brantley).

I think the staff is expecting Lingard to be eligible. If that's the case, you don't green light Clayton and instead you take your time and circle back to him if he wants in. However, let me preface it this way; Knox still sucks donkey dick and needs to be replaced

Except for Dwayne Haskins, Meyer's QBs at pOSU averaged around 170 carries a season.

Miller was a great runner, but most of his runs were outside of the OT's.

At 205lbs, Del Rio has plenty of room to grow. He's also got some good film running the ball. He may be listed as a pro-style, but he definitely has wheels. Maybe Mullen is evolving the offense a bit after watching the success Trask has had throwing the ball? Who knows, but AR will give him both options if he continues to progress as a passer.

Taggart’s son has signed to play for his father at FAU. He’s a Willie, too. We’re going to be burning up the “L” key on our laptops.

Probably less than 10 of those were called runs - others include sacks, busted plays, scrambles, etc.

Wow, I see all of the new posts and click on the thread foolishly thinking "maybe there has been some movement that relates to NSD."

I should have known that all I would find would be posters bickering back and forth about something completely not related to the thread title.

Finding today’s recruiting news and info in the signing day thread is impossible.
Great minds think alike. It has been so frustrating in threads on this site lately. Only about 2% of what is posted actually relates to the topic (and that might be being generous). You have to spend so much time sifting through stupid arguments just to find anything related to the actual topic of any given thread.
