Our linebacker and safety corp is a fvkking nightmare.

Houston and Miller have no business being the starters, but it goes to show how bad the recruiting has been.

I'd really like to see updated weights on guys like Diabate, Summerall, Hopper, Reese and a few others.

I really hope Wingo and Hopper can add 20 or 30 lbs in the off season. They may be the only 2 SEC level talent wise linebackers we've got.

Watching Houston play last year was giving me flashbacks of Vosean Joseph, 90% of the time he's in the wrong spot, he just gets to the wrong spot much slower than Vosean . I know some on here were pretty high on Pierre coming out of high school, hopefully he outplays the hell out of his recruiting ranking.

There's no way the safety play can be worse than last year with the graduation of Jeawon Taylor, maybe Stiner will decide to transfer this summer. Hell I think we'd have more success playing with 10 guys most plays than the 11th being Stiner. At least the other db's would know before the ball was snapped there's no help back there as opposed to thinking they've got help over the top.

Yeah I used to look forward to updated weights too.....until they would be the same in fall practice as they were in spring......

Agreed

On rare occasion when Stiner was in the right position to make a play he would totally whiff on the tackle.

The guy is unblocked late against Mississippi State last year and makes the sack and suddenly people decide he’s a star but that’s the only play he has made in 3 years

No that was Chris McWilliamson.

They are essentially the same player though.

it's easy to get them confused.

If that were what happens Id be happy.

And yet, wake me up when Stiner isnt starting.

I think the odds are against us at successfully moving edge rushers like Diabetus and Wingo (and all tothe others) inside linebacker.

LB is definitely an eye opener in a bad way. I like the guys we have at safety minus Stiner.
Man coverage just isn't their strength. TD can be a decent back up safety I think. I know i've
seen enough of him at star. Miller is probably the closest thing to a physical presence like
Reese, so I expect him to get a lot of snaps. Diabate looks more of a natural sam to me
and/or pass rusher. I don't know if he's physical enough for the will spot, but that is
for the staff to figure out. He definitely has the athleticism , which obviously is a good thing.
The play of the backers and OL were going to be what I looked at most over spring. We're going
to be counting on guys at LB that haven't played much, or in some cases any college ball yet .

Depends on the opponent. I liked Marco there in the glimpses we saw from him a year ago.
Asking Burney to play that spot isn't playing to his strength in my opinion. I think he's more
of a Marcus Maye type safety that can help you in the run game and cover a tight end.
Asking Amari to cover a slot or a back out of the backfield is going to be a mismatch
against a lot of teams we play. If it were me I'd probably play Marco there if Hill and/or
CK continue to improve.
