So now we know now that chimp visits this site, or maybe fooley, Mcshark, or whatever.
It could be that jbird guy.

Anyway, this site is great just the way it is.
I think a "funny" button would be cool but it would reduce the post count.
I second adding a funny button. Thumbs up and lol are not the same.

Most posters in political forum are intolerant and borderline hateful of anyone who is not pro-Trump/conservative/libertarian. Putting corona thread in main sports forum was a mistake, glad the thread was moved. I’m no longer posting anything in the political forum because I don’t feel welcome and it’s not worth my time and sanity.
Again, this site isn't about the PF. The PF is nothing but an add-on, just like the lounge. This topic is about the sports forum, what Gatorchatter is about.

Quit whining about the other sections. If you don't like them, don't visit them.

The site is not as fun without sports around. You know things are slow when Grant Delpit gets four pages of posts and counting. I even ventured into the Lounge for a bit to post about music and movies. I like the making fun of each other and jokes about non political things. Hopefully sports play return in summer/fall for all our sanities.

Got banned from chat box because of innocuous comment about those in the corona thread. I’d like that to be removed.

Lastly what’s going on with Sas? You should remove the site ban, he probably didn’t do anything wrong except hold differing political views than most on this board.
First, stop being a wimp. If you have something political to say, then say it in the PF.
Have your opinion and own it. Who gives a schit what anyone else thinks?

No, they're not the same. But adding an emoji gives the opportunity for the reader to give a reaction without posting.
I like it as a reader, but if I'm looking to get more posts, then I might be hesitant about adding it.

In reading that paragraph, I'm interpreting "wild west bull****" to mean saying negative things about the program. Any thoughts?

I don't know who wrote it, but if negativity is borne out my reality (see the MussMac years) then that's what it is. I felt pretty negative and GC was a place that I could commiserate with other Gator fans.

But since you're asking, and my stand on this should come as no surprise, I would prefer more "mod" activity to keep threads on track. And I'm not talking about mods censoring "pumpers" or "dumpers". Going looking for recruiting news and having to scroll past pages and pages of "my pecker is bigger than yours" is a waste of my time. But I have learned to put some people on Ignore and to scroll past others.

So yes, I guess that is a criticism of how the board is operated. But this is still the place I check everyday for Gator news and there are people on here whos analysis and insight, I truly value.

Rocket, I'm only accepting compliments in this thread, no criticism.

I think that you are spot on about more Mod activity. I hate to a topic posted in our Help sections and by the 3rd post it has turned into the comedy zone.

You say that and I'm not sure if BNA has ever banned a soul.....ever. In fact, I'm not sure if he's ever done a moderator move of any sort.
BNA performs the very critical duty of kicking Jboss 5-10 times a day.

I don't see the need for a "Funny" button. You are welcome....

Every time I say that we need or don't need Ox makes his mind up 180 degrees opposite. ;)

There are plenty of places to go to express your blind loyalty to your favorite team. This place isn't one of them and that's exactly why I come here every day. Sometimes the Emperor isn't wearing any clothes. Nothing wrong with letting everyone know when that's the case.

Look, I've been on other sites (briefly) where censorship and over moderation are the norm and people are banned left and right (thus the "briefly" comment). They suck a$$. You want to talk about echo chamber? It's the same stuff over and over again with little of anything new or original. Granted, the redundancy of a few posters here gets quite tiresome at times. That's why I bought one of those new fangled computers with this cool scroll feature. I think they came out in 1988.

I'm about sick to death of political correctness and hurt feelings. If you are easily offended or feel like you don't want to read things you don't agree with or not post for fear of getting push back on your opinion then perhaps this site and ....well.....real life.... are not right for you. Grow a f**king pair. The only reason I come here is because it's not that kind of site. Those are a dime a dozen and they offer very little in the way of interesting and entertaining posters or insight.

I don't know how the number of lurkers here compares to other sites, but I know for a fact that there is a decent contingent of folks who, though they may be gun shy about posting, enjoy coming here to watch the carnival. They should be welcomed when they decide to finally post and perhaps older posters should hold off on the sarcastic baptism of fire many of them fear......at least until they really deserve it.

How does the OP know that alot of people are turned off by it? That's called pulling something out of your ass.

The ribbing is usually funny and very clever. Although calling someone a mean name isnt very nice and pretty much ends the real discussion... it sure is great entertainment for everyone else. Which in the end, that's what it's all about.

My only comment would be: moderators should step in when death wishes, hunting accident wishes, promises of grave shiiting, tailgate challenges, or knife fight threats are thrown down. And "step in" is rather vague. But it also has the potential for high entertainment value if done creatively.

I agree mostly with this post but I see nothing wrong with an occasional knife fight.
