Nothing wrong with a deal, the fine print did say you will be seated in the nose bleed seats with other fans within 6’, and that you waive your right to sue..

Have we hit rock bottom yet?

This is Mountain West level marketing.

I disagree - partially. Consumer choices are changing and you're seeing many stadiums at less than capacity. Not just Florida - and not just football. While some of that can be credited to the product on the field, I think they were simply pricing some people out of it at a time when the stadium is competing with enormous televisions (with multiple games at the same time) in an air conditioned man-centric room with beer options a plenty and whatever snacks you want. When even people of moderate means can afford the setup I described above it is hard to get people to shell out a booster fee and ticket costs to sit in the sun, starkly sober, with a spouse that is over it and kids that want their 14th $4 soda.

That is a huge issue when it comes to baseball in this area. I can shell out $20 (for outfield or 2/3 teir seats) a ticket, $8 soda, $10 hotdog to see the Rays. Or you can go to one of the 4 to 6 Single A stadiums around here and get $10 behind home plate tickets (usually first row is available), get $2 hotdogs, $3 soda, $4 beer, etc on no special nights. Why see the Rays and shell out over 100 for my family of three, where I can take them to the local A team, shell out $20 for a similar experience with better customer service.

Can we not find a picture of a kid with all his teeth?? Good God man!!

I'm less concerned with his teeth. It's the "Z" shaved into his head, and his dad doing the "Guy Fieri" with his glasses that's really bothering me. Even his little sister is pissed about being lumped into this whole thing. Good for her.

I think this is in anticipation of the “Covid factor”. That is, people not going to games for fear of the ‘Vid. Trying to do anything to put butts in the seats.

The obligatory:
:racist:

Regardless of the marketing campaign, no matter how they framed it, it would have been considered racist in our current climate Let me 'splain' as Desi Arnez would say.

First off the ad contains a photo of a minority family. Is UF implying that this is targeting minorities b/c they are thought to be less affluent financially? Had it been an image of a Caucasian family, there would have been screams of "what, only whiteys go to games?" Are they trying to give Whitey a deal? And of course the kid does not have his teeth. Are they saying the kid has already had too much grape kool aid and his teeth have rotted? They could have had just the ad with the words and numbers on it and no humans at all and someone would have complained that it was racist, LOL

Have any of you bought single game tix lately? A Franklin for 4 is a helluva deal. Last game I went to (LSU in 18) tix were 85 each face value. S end zone up high.

Go to tix sites and you can get upper bowl for $30-$100 depending on the game

I'm not disagreeing with the pathetic nature of the marketing campaign, but it is a good deal for a family and it does serve the purpose of getting families out to the Swamp and thereby getting young, future fans invested in the Gators.

Take my family, for example. My kids just turned 12 and 10. I've been taking them to Gator sporting events for as long as they can remember, but until recently, they hadn't been to a football game except for the O&B game (which they hated because it was too hot and they were bored). So as much as they enjoyed basketball, softball, baseball, gymnastics, etc, they had no desire to watch a football game. That is, until two years ago when I was offered four free tickets to the LSU game at the last minute. Naturally, I couldn't refuse that offer, so we went to the game. The atmosphere was one of the best the Swamp had seen in years, and the kids were really getting into it. And when we got that late INT to seal the victory, and the stadium erupted, my kids went bananas and they were hooked.

Last year, the ticket office offered the same four-pack deal and I took the family to the Vandy game. The whole family had a great time, despite the opponent, and now my kids are asking me if we can go to more games this year. So, for a reasonable price that makes it easy for me to take the family, we now have two more future die-hard Gators who are looking forward to football season.
