it's simple. if you had to take a job that involves a lot of travel oh, and one business was going to put you up in a Hilton and give you all the luxuries oh, and the other was going to put you up in a shtty Econoldge which was built in the 50s and last remodeled in the 80s, which do you take?

Of course.
If the 2nd business would put me up in a hojo I’d for sure go with business number 2. No doubt

I heard econolodge has better PPV though

It’s funny how terminology and its perceived meaning changes over time. I have two friends who I do FaceTime drinks sometimes(they live out of town anyway). A few months back, one of them says “Gotta go, I’m about to watch a PPV movie with the kids”. Having grown up in the 90s, that term means something entirely different. Me and my other friend were both like ”ummm, what?”

Alabama 2006 $50 million (ie days after they hired Saban)
2009 $66 mil

it's hard to even Google what else they did. there are so many projects and so many numbers.

One article says (2015 date) says since 2009 they have spent 88 million more.

2020 $600 million....

SIX

HUNDRED

MILLION.

288 mil for the stadium and Walk if Champions area (I guess the football team stages there)
$16 mil for an expansion of the trainers wing and the football
looks like there's a little bit of softball money in there also but it appears to be all otherwise football.

And some of the UAA suckers think we will have "the best facilities in the country" once we get our $50 million all in one that we really will be sharing w baseball and everyone else.

Maybe Fooley knew all along half the country would turn into bleeding kvnts about the flu and we'd lose at least one year of football revenue. One of the benefits of being a tight wad is your not over leveraged when the world stops.

If a kid does not want to come here cause we don't have a ****ing arcade Funland. He was not going to come anyways. We win recruits will come for the right reason. All the sports pundits hyped Kirby Smart as the next big coach for years before he left Alabama so of course kids were going to line up and play for him they wanted to be apart of the next big thing. Well guess what he is not and never will be.
My kids want to live with their mom because she smashed her boss and now they are almost done with a 10k square foot house on the water. They don't want to live with me anymore because they have jet skis, an arcade and movie theatre. They are 7 and 10 and now Im in a court battle because she wants to try and flex her muscle.

Point is yes, kids give a crap about nice things around them. I live in a 3400 square foot house in a great neighborhood where all their friends are but it's not enough. They would rather have nice things and live at chuck e cheese and never hear the word no! Kids are kids and they don't change until they become adults and can see through the BS.

Why Alabama’s dynasty will never really be over

This article is unfortunately probably mostly true and it has some more staggering numbers. I don't feel like reading it again and cutting and pasting.

It just highlights the difference with a program dedicated to winning and a program dedicated to being the cheapest motherfuchsers in the country and occasionally beating Kintucky or LSU and claiming that makes us great at "X's and O's".

The results:

What I would be more interested in would be a list of new and remodeled facilities for all our other sports and the fans/boosters like the Touchdown Terrence and the 20 million dollar trophy case Meyer built as the face of the program or whatever he called the Heavner center.

There's also the Hawkins academic center that not a single scholarship football player gives a damn about that cost 50 million. The list goes on and on with hundreds of millions of dollars spent but none on the actual players. They did build the indoor practice facility but were to damn cheap to put a locker room in so the players wouldn't have to take a mile hike to and from practice each day to dress and undress. Stricklands cryptic tweet about "funds in place for demo and utilities"
was an obvious call for more money after five years and 150 million dollars donated since announcing our goal to build the stand alone.

Thanks for mentioning that today’s players don’t care about academics

I have been saying this for years and I continue to laugh every time someone talks about what a good school we are . Funny stuff

I'd forget the lawyers and start working on a plan to make sure the mom has an "accident" in the water.

But we are one of the top ten schools for quality divided by cost of education for schools in the southeast who's school name begins with the letters a-g, or whatever the fuchs they are always bragging about.

I feel like you’ve been venting a lot on this matter, which is both completely understandable, and also way better than any of your recruiting prediction posts. So I’m not complaining. That said, as Bait’n mentioned, you have access to some of the most brilliant minds right here and should’ve employed that angle to rectify this matter. Throw in the water aspect and it’s almost too easy.

Seriously, though, sorry to hear of your troubles. Just know all those toys will get old(especially if they can’t be used because the new guy has two broken arms). Can’t take away you being dad.

Only thing that has changed is we still play by the rules while other coaches and teams are buying car dealerships buying recruits parents houses and bring cash to recruiting visits. While we try to offer education and morals

And we sit alone on our pedestal of self righteousness and watch our competition play for trophies

Is Fooley still the GOAT?

Did he get that Conference Commish job yet? I heard everyone acknowledged him as the greatest and we're just chomping at the bit to hire him as the Commish.
