Trying to find 5.56x45 NATO. Got two choice: 20 rounds or 1000. The ranges are crazy too. Hour wait for a lane anytime of day. And employees bitching about how over worked they are.

Ive been stocking up on components. Should be able to reload 'enough' to get by. Now...if only I hadn't lost my AR in that boating accident.

If you are trying to stock now, you are too late. Stockpile in good times, sit back and watch in bad.

Also try ammoseek.com in addition to gunbot.net.

Bullseye Guns on Atlantic Blvd has a bunch in stock as of Monday afternoon. Only 2 lanes in use at 2 pm.

Here's an update. For those of you who don't know, part of my work is directly with EVERY major (and most minor) ammunition manufacturer in the WORLD, to the tune of 10's of millions of rounds annually. I talked with four today, in three different countries.

There will be a massive shortage of ammunition until at least 2022. With the run on sales in general, combined with international Covid supply chain shutdowns, manufacturers are out or running out of brass casings and small primers, powder they still have. Lead times on small primers right now is 10+ months... For manufacturers.

How many will not survive it?

The "bigs" will all survive, it's smaller (but I don't mean tiny, many of them are on MidwayUSA and the like) ones that will have the problems. As Vista and Olin have a complete lock on primers, they will horde for themselves first (and for govt contracts), everyone else will be scrappin'!

That sucks but thanks for the info. I haven't shot in a while due to the shutdowns and being absolutely buried with work. I've got plenty stockpiled but not if I get back to the monthly volume typical with the assumption that things will be scarce until 2022. Crazy.

Just picked up a couple hundred rounds of various shotshell at Academy....no buck to be found but there was 1 Shield 9 compact looking a little too lonely in the case. Should make a good console piece for a Mustang....no tactical shotguns there either.

So are you saying stock up while we can?

Many other things are out of stock also. I've been trying to find a Maverick 88 18.5" for a friend and they are no where to be found.
I'm looking for a Glock 45 MOS for myself and those are all gone. My local dealer says that Glock Georgia has not been able to get parts from Europe and so have not been producing many Glocks.
And I ordered a extended hand rail for my AR15 and which has a 6-10 month lead time.

I know the answer to this. he doesn't even have to answer.

you don't wait till it's raining to build an ark.

re: Glock, are you going to a blue dealer? blue dealers get first inventory. as active duty you are eligible for that.
