Anyone listen to his podcast? He does one called “Podup with Mathews” had Bowden and Spurrier on the other day...usually always does good interviews with former players and coaches

17: QB Clyde Crabtree
“Cannonball” Crabtree starred for UF from 1927-29; he also started for the basketball team. Crabtree was ambidextrous both throwing and kicking, and was a third-team All-American in 1928. In 1928, he guided one of the best teams in school history; the Gators finished 8-1 and outscored their foes 336-44.

It's gotta be Reche Caldwell but you know...I mean, after he left UF...

OK, so maybe we throw special teams a bone and give it to Chas Henry.

At this point it is obvious Unc is just an Ox alias and this is about the only threads on here that do not get political. These selections are clearly trolling. We knew something was up when Sammy McKorkle wasn't #20.

Now, we are using original numbers in addition to the prior history of just bad choices (other than Oliver). Driskel is up next I suppose.

I can guaranty that tomorrow will not be from 1969 or 1970. There were no numbers starting with a one those years.

I'll give it to Chas...he's definitely the best punter in school history and did his part in pinning teams back and flipping the field for the Meyer championship years.

Mostly, this is just giving props for the balls it took for him to call his own audible and rush for 17 yards vs Hawaii to get a first down...when Meyer didn't call for a fake punt. Some serious stones/confidence and pure arrogance there.

**as a double bonus, he kicked the game-winning FG vs UGAy with Grantham trying to distract him on the sideline...so that's gotta count for something.

why would you reply to this?

just pretend someone stole your phone and start over on #16.

But did he really "wear" jersey number 17 if he didn't actually play in 1989? It wasn't his redshirt year but I don't think he recorded any stats in 1989. I think Gavin Dickey put up bigger numbers wearing #17 at QB for the Gators

700 yards man, in half a season. that's actually a good year for Fitzgerald or Driskel.

Noah really only played a little his senior year. That season, he threw 6 touchdowns against 3 interceptions. Playing in a Spurrier offense. The WHOLE season.

Terry Dean and Doug Johnson each threw for 7 touchdowns in a single game. Wuerffel, Kresser, and Leak all got 6 in a single game. Pretty sure Kresser got his in the only game he ever started for the Gators.

So, uhh, yeah, I guess Brindise should be in the conversation. :dunno:
