A friend does some competitive shooting and his primary pistol is a Taurus 9mm. He loves it and says that it has never misfired.
No. Modern guns are an embarrassment of riches. Even the "lower" priced guns are pretty darn good. Modern manufacturing.

She won't carry it. I like a little weight. So I may get it for her...and me. I may get a pocket gun.

My wife had a similar want. Light weight with a big bullet and no recoil. Not gonna happen. She shot my 357 with 1 inch barrel but with 38 round. Recoil was a little harder than a 22.

The weight of the 357 frame offset the lower recoil of the 38 bullet.

I am thinking about getting a 12 gauge with the option to use a high capacity magazine and I would appreciate a few good recommendations.
1. Pump or semi-automatic
2. Make and model
3. anything else that I need to know.

1. Pump or semi-automatic
2. Make and model
Either and any in a nutshell.....but if you get a semi auto shotgun make sure you're firing hot enough ammo to cycle properly(or adjust gas if so equipped)in a life or death situation....a pump takes that part out of the equation but unless you get creative you need 2 hands to operate(unless you're a man like me who can rack and work his 870 Tactical with one arm;)) Mossberg 500 or 870 Tactical would be my starting point for pump guns and Mossberg or Benelli would be my choice of semi auto...

You must have a tactical muzzle brake with integral glass breaker and bottle opener on any defense shotgun unless it is a .410. The bottle opener doesn’t look right on those models

I have a Rem 870 pump now. I had Rem semi-auto in the late 60's but it jammed too often. If the new 870 tactical only holds 2 more rounds than my 870 it may not be worth changing. If you will teach me how to rack and fire one handed then I could shoot 2 at a time. :drunk:

The Mossberg 500 tactical version holds1 more(8 total) and is honestly a more user friendly(safety and slide release position) than the Remington but you could always get the 6 round tube for your 870 for less than a new gun....or buy a bad ass Benelli semi auto... if you are just wanting a really nice gun and don't mind paying for it.

You can buy a mag tube extension for ~$50.

If my wife wins the lottery and doesn't divorce me I will consider buying the Benelli. Otherwise I will look into trading my 870 for the Mossberg or just buying a new mag tube. Thanks for the input!!

Wanna look tacticool? You like bullpups?

Panzer Arms is Turkish for what it is worth. Not surprised they went with the Wehrmacht imagery in choosing their name. Fcuking bastards. Anyway.

This is their bullpup in 12 gauge. 5 round magazine. Nice for turning corners, not so nice if you aren't comfortable exchanging a magazine in a bullpup design.

This is their traditional design. They made them like ARs so if you're familiar with an AR, you'll be familiar with this firearm's operation.

Both come with plenty of rail estate for lights, sights, and lasers, and of course, just for Crete, you can always screw one of these on in case you need to gouge your opponent's eyeball out:

If anyone wants to know how to successfully rack and fire an 870 one handed, even after you’ve been hit twice, google Edmundo Mireles. He was the FBI agent who killed the two perps in the Miami shootout in 1986. One. Tough. Guy.
