And this is a prime example for all the "trust the coaches" dipsh*ts. For everyone that said, "WTF? Why aren't we signing DTs?" well, here it is, right on the field...right in front of our own eyes - recruiting failure on full display as we've given up 59 points in two games, couldn't get off the field in the 4th quarter (in both games), giving up 71% 4th down conversions and 48% 3rd down conversions. But don't worry, 'trust the coaches', nothing to see here. smh

More games are won in the trenches than any other position group. Dominant lines will elevate the potential over every other position group.

I don't care how talented your qb or rb is, if they spend the game on their back as much as T's mom when Senior Donk comes over. If you are urg on talent at the lines, every other position group is going to suffer. Hard for any LB especially our guys that are light in the ass to do anything if the other teams OL is getting to the second level with ease.

Yep. Just a friendly reminder that we had a lights out defense and won a NC by completely shutting down Ohio State, with converted-WR Reggie Lewis, Tony Joiner and a transfer from Utah in the secondary. Yes, RFN was stellar. But he couldn't be every where. That team was the DL and Siler.

The wins of 2018 and '19 have given Mullen enough equity to be ok regardless of what happens this year. But if things continue defensively, which they're likely to do, he can try to save himself with a DC move in the offseason. Obviously recruiting woes won't be fixed with that, but with a new, competent DC, and if we can pull some inside guys late and/or through the portal, and with some luck injury-wise with who we currently have, we may actually be ok. Lots of moving parts, and as I've said before, this is Mullen's baby at this point, so he'll have to live with the consequences. But there's simply no way he can continue the status quo and be employed at UF beyond '21, '22 the latest. He's literally putting his livelihood in the hands of Grantham, who ironically, is probably the least loyal coordinator in the country. For a story that could be so good, he's allowing the tragic ending to be written right before his eyes.

The problem is that I don't think Strickland is going to fire a coach consistently winning around 10 games a year, and Fuchs is more concerned about being a woke Ivy League school. The offense is good enough to win a lot of games and be exciting. It's the defense, ironically, that is a hindrance to our championship aspirations. A lot of people were concerned that Mullen would be our version of Mark Richt, and so far that seems to be true, right down to sharing the same DC.

One of McElwain's biggest (of many) problems was that he was too loyal to his loser coaches that were underperforming. Thus far, Mullen has made the same mistake.

Exactly what I have said from the day he was hired, our Mark Richt.

We have nothing resembling a stellar DL and we sure as hell dont have Siler at MLB.

That being said, if Trashman stays healthy, we should he able to outscore everyone. Most of the SEC teaks cant score on air.

Defense is garbage and will be garbage for years. This is still the best team we ve had since 2009. It sure beats hoping knowing the game was over when the other team gets to 14 or 21.

I kinda think if EJ is healthy we are good even if Trask goes down.

Crazy that you’re the voice of reason, but you’re right. Even with our deficiencies, the offense may be enough to carry this team.

Has anyone looked around college football this year? Every team looks heavily flawed. Bama’s win over A&M wasn’t that impressive. They gave up 300 yards to Kellen Mond. They just scored so much on offense that everyone just overlooks it. I feel comfortable going in to the game that a team will need to score at least 35-40 to beat us.

Pretty good video (recaps the first two games and preparation for the SC game) - very little to do with with the upcoming A&M game, but didn't know where else to put it.
