So Vanderbilt has a better defense than us now? Who knew? Seriously though, Vandy did better against these guys than we did..... I blame Swamp Donkey.

I’ve seen better attempts at conversation misdirection from my children than what you’ve offered today. You, just like everyone else with all the wine but no cheese, know there wasn’t anyone else better for us much less able to have the success with the shyt left over from the butters clusterfck.

Oh, BTW, your pick Fleck sucks, unless you think a w-l record of 53-37 is something to be jealous of. He’s 3-2 in post season games over 7 years FFS. DAMN, how could we pass this gem up?

You’re a fkn idiot.

****ing eXACTLY. Just texted my friend a couple of hours ago that the coachspeak he is spewing is very similar to zook, muschamp, and mac. Can you imagine Spurrier or Urban EVER saying anything so weak or pathetic. They would be incensed at seeing the same issues over and over. They would not tolerate it. As I said, he is probably HAPPY to be 2-1 right now in SEC play. Better than he normally would be.

The **** coming out of his mouth after this loss is the nail in the coffin for me. I've been on the fence since he was hired, trying to lean as hard as I could to fall into his yard filled with dawg ****, but it's impossible for me.

After two and a half years of muschamp and mac I was ready to see them go, knowing full well I was going to have to see another year and a half of their crap. It's the same now. He's gonna be fired after he loses to UGA (for the fourth time) next year. Still hope he proves me wrong. But he won't. We are still 4-5 years at best for having a decent chance at winning any sort of championship.

Next year is gonna be worse by the way.

Please please please make me eat some crow, dan.

Next year, no Miller, no Stewart, no Davis, no Cambpell, no Slaton. Beyond Dexter, we’re 240 across the board, playing low scoring football.
This is what folks don't realize. Next year's got the potential to get ugly. Like 4-8 ugly. There's nobody behind those leaving that you mentioned. It's going to take some miracle work in the transfer portal and a new DC.

Say what you will, but we were in a tie game with 3 minutes to go with the ball at the 50. The RB fumbled. We lose. If we game 5 yards. we kick a FG as the time expires to win the game.

Davis lost this game.
The higher grounders will never come around. Of course Davis didn't single-handedly lose the game. But to say proudly "we didn't lose this game because of Davis" ignores the simple logic that "if" he doesn't fumble "then" we drive for the winning score, "else" we give aTm a short field to run out the clock and kick the game winner.

Lots of fault to pass around but the probable win turned into the definite loss when Davis dropped the rock.

And why was it a definite loss at that point?

... a competent DC and at least 2 more recruiting cycles to bring in some D1 sized talent. I'm afraid Grantham may have set us back several years on the D side. I honestly don't see a bright spot anywhere.

Dan may have dug his own grave.

But... it's possible to pull in CC players on D that can contribute. That and the portal. They better be on it. Three games in a row of complete trash on the D side. Not a single gamechanger on the field. Not one. When is the last time you can remember that?

The offense is finally fun to watch and we go all ACC on the D side.:bananaburn:
ACC? We wish, this D is pure big 12 garbage.

Because our D sucks balls, no argument there. We gave them a short field with the clock running down, they only needed a FG to seal it, and we couldn't stop the run or the clock to have one last chance on offense. I'm not ignoring all the terrible plays we made before that point in the game. I'm not even blaming Davis directly. He didn't call his own number and their defense made a nice play to jar the ball lose and made the heads up play to fall on it. I just don't get the the point of pretending that play didn't turn the impending close win into the eventual close loss.

It's crazy how things are polar opposites now, we use to have to rely on a defense to not let anyone score more than 14 a game cause our offense couldn't keep up. Now we need our offense to be just a bout perfect with no mistakes drives ending in punts, just to ensure a win. Once again I'll credit the posters on here that were predicting this scenario a few years back. It's more exciting to watch when you have a potent offense at least, but still sucks just as bad when you lose.

I forget which coach I'm paraphrasing but, "offense fills stadiums, defense wins championships"

Mullen's press conference had a few interesting aspects: (1) he wore a face covering for the first time only after a loss; (2) he was notably pissed for the first time at the defensive coaches and players - about damn time, though viciously focused winners would have been that way after the Ole Miss game to avoid the inevitability of this game; and (3) he was flat out calling Fuchs out to allow all 90k in the Swamp. He seemed angrier about that than our defensive performance and was very much pushing to lift all limts, while doubting the real numbers at Kyle Field.

Last point - our media is beyond bad. If we win, these post-games are 15-20 minutes. Now, this obvious shyting of the bed on defense and he leaves the Mic after 5 minutes, but not because he fled. Our media couldn't think of questions to ask. No wonder he is complacent. So many obvious questions and no one teed them up. Among them: What was the thinking having Davis and his ball control issues on the field at that point? Why, with 1:33 seconds and aTm in field goal range on third down did you not call a timeout? What is the specific plan to fix the defense? How are the other young DT's looking; is Wingo just not ready/how far away is he from seeing the fielf; what is the reason the LB's can't get off blocks (coaching or skill); are you concerned about the overall undersized nature of the defensive recruiting; is this changing your recruiting outlook; is the offense becoming frustrated at the defense; does the offense start to play tight, realizing that even one punt or one turnover will lose the game? Etc.

@oxrageous, can GC get some press credentials? We have our correspondent.

Don't see why we just can't fire Fat Todd, then promote Gray and let him have the rest of the year.

I think that is really all we can do mid-season, and as a fan, I'm okay with any flippin change. Doing something like may give me some hope that Mullen has some hair on his gonads.
