My SIL recently bought a counter-depth LG french door that was leaking and freezing under the veggie bin. So I looked inside and it looked identical to my Samsung.

Ours has done that too. For us it was because the water filter wasn’t in correctly.

There's a problem where the drain hole inlet freezes and the defrost water runs down the back of the refrigerator. The small drain heater breaks. It's a small aluminum tab that wraps around the bottom of the the defrost heater.

Sounds familiar. Seedy has fixed so many issues on ours that I pray it dies so we can replace it. There are two spots in the back wall of our refrigerator that have frozen over. Is this what you are talking about? @Seedy could give you more specifics.

Those frozen spots aren't root of the problem, its a little higher behind the back panel in the cooling chamber. utube video shows it good.

Those Whirlpools aren't made by the same company that made them 17 years ago.

**Update - Since removing the lower freezer door last week to gain access to the icemaker, splicing the low voltage wiring to the defrost element and reinstalling the icemaker that had fallen into the ice bucket, I was beaming with pride as the icemaker began dropping ice cubes. (I have had to reinstall this frigging thing at least 6 times in the last 2 or 3 years). Yesterday I slowly opened the drawer to take a peek only to discover the entire assembly lying once more in the ice.

Your model might be different but this was like mine. At the end of the video you can see the aluminum tab drain hole heater. I replaced mine with small copper wire wrapped around the heater and extended into the drain hole.

Are you saying Whirlpool sucks like your Samsung refrigerator and your Bosch dishwasher you finagled and got for free?

The company markets Whirlpool, Maytag, KitchenAid, JennAir, Amana.

Whirlpool

Refrigerators from Whirlpool tend to be highly regarded for their durability and solid quality. Many homeowners are loyal to Whirlpool as their fridges last longer than other brands and don't call for as many (if any) repairs.

Frigidaire makes a very good refrigerator. Headquarters in Charlotte and owned by Swedish Electrolux. Probably almost as good as Whirlpool....

:lmao: I didn't finagle anything on the Bosch, Lowes and the warranty company decided to give me a full refund including installation fees. I could have junked it but I chose too fix it..

yeah, I didn’t really mean that. I just don’t understand your lack of Whirlpool like as they are still the basically the same company as they have always been with of course growth and modernization to keep up with the market. I like to buy their quietest, most simple, normal models with as little digital add on crap as possible so there is less shiit to break.

Thanks! That looks like the same video that Seedy watched when he thawed it last.

Ugh, Electrolux. After fighting with them for almost a year to replace my front loader washer after at least 10 repairs (water leaking out the door) I had to get the BBB involved. POS. I thought Electrolux was good and payed a premium. Never again.

The new GE Profile sxs arrives November 10. I first tried to buy a Frigidaire Gallery model but the salesman said none available and don't know if or when because "Covid I guess". I'm like dude it's almost November, I would assume they are not making that model any more and have a new model that replaces it coming out.
