Nothing's been announced by the NCAA, except they'll allow seniors to return. This is going to be a problem w/ every college in the country, so I'm expecting some sort of waiver..
[edit: this was wrong as we later found out]

It isnt JUST seniors. This year doesnt count for ANYONE. So this years freshmen are still freshmen next year.

It will echo really for five years.

Understood...but most non-seniors would be expected to return (unless they transfer, grad transfer, or leave for the NFL).

So the NCAA is going to have to put something out to address this. Otherwise, there will be cuts or schools will only be able to sign 10 or so players for a few years until their rosters get balanced again.

It'll happen. Don't expect the dipsh*t's at the NCAA to move quickly, they still haven't ruled on the 1-time free transfer rule, which has been on the table for two years.

Yeah, but the freshmen this year are still freshmen next year, sophs are still sophs etc.

Pretending there are 20 for each class, you can see the problem. Probably only 5 seniors leave.

This ripples for five years.

I hear you. It's going to be a Charlie Foxtrot, unless the NCAA allows 5 years to clear the roster. Maybe allow 110 in 2021, 100 in 2022, 90 in 2023 and back to 85 by 2024? Who knows, but they'll likely f*ck it up real good.

The problem is going to be the G5 schools who can't afford to carry extra scholarships - several of the G5 schools don't even pay the "cost of tuition" stipends. How are they going to carry 10+ $50K/year scholarships?

Have you watched his game film?

Likes to intimidate. Love this guy.
I’ll watch sometimes, but I’m not good enough to always know what I’m seeing. While somethings are obvious, I tend to have difficulty assessing how good the competition is. I’d probably have to watch a lot more film and that’s really not worth my time. Instead, I’ll trust guys like you, @ltraz , @BMF etc.!

if they do that then schools will not be able to take 25 each year new recruits.

well it is of course a highlight film. everyone looks good on a highlight film. it's also usually Junior film. So, most kids grow perform better as a senior.

it's a lot harder to go watch a high school game on YouTube. sometimes you can do it against their biggest rival or whatever especially if it's a nationally ranked high school program. the good news is that they do have the game film it's often "all 22" video, better than typical network film which just focuses on the quarterback or ball carrier.

competition is always a problem but you can usually see by how big and fast the other kids are. even on one of these Catholic all-star teams or IMG you can tell who's a step better than the other players. on most teams a real division one player should really shine.

you can still see who's got the right stuff.

you can still see playing styles and techniques regardless. you'll know a little more when you see them playing the under armor all American type games.

the chief is a punisher. I like that a lot. we've been signing a lot of finesse players. we need attitude in the middle, even if he isnt sec elite speedwise. this defense is always struggle the last two years without Reese # 33 for a reason, who also was "too slow".

the bad news is we really needed him two classes ago.

@BMF i edited alot

This is of course the hope.
I thought Reese and Bostic were decent MLBs, but we haven’t had a guy at that position who puts actual fear in opposing players since Spikes. Would love to see that again.

I really don't think I'm exaggerating to say he is the most important recruit in this class. not because he's the most likely to be all SEC or all American or whatever but because the need is so great.

Bostic has shown the ability even in the pro to hit a quarterback whenever possible.

Unless I’m missing something, nobody from our team qualifies for an extra year of eligibility yet.

they have to either sit out the year or the team has to play less than 50% of the season.

see below.
