In the case of the Masters, your win gets you a lifetime invitation to play in future Masters.

Well after that 10 on the Par 3 I suspect the Augusta National board of directors is currently changing that courtesy rule at this very moment in an emergency meeting they called. You’ll never see Tiger invited to this tournament again.

Also, that "hack" is the defending Masters Champion. Another pretty good reason for him to show up.

“Worshippers”????
Really???

Good lord.
For the record, when I consider a GOAT, no matter what sport or even walk of life, I consider actual accomplishments within that specific field.

TV barely existed when Palmer played, old timer.

Wrong. Wrong. Wrong. Nicklaus and Player were close behind and put Golf on the TV map. I must add apologies to Jones, Nelson. Sneed, Hogan and others. Wood revitalized interest. He didn't start it, whippersnapper.

You mean the people worshipping Nicklaus?
With old clubs (not juiced) and an old ball (not juiced) Nicklaus, if he wanted to, could crush the ball 340 plus yards. God knows what he would have done with today's equipment. He also knew when not to crush the ball. I've seen Nicklaus up close an personal. Same for Woods. I'll give Woods his due. He was very very good. He couldn't hold Jack's jock strap. Jack had one flaw that held him back he wasn't great a scrambler. No he wasn't as good as Tiger in that part of his game. He fixed that later in his career. God knows how many Majors he would have one if he'd done that earlier.

Without him in contention, no one cares. That's why last year's tournament was one of the best ever.

I'd rather see Tiger Woods shoot a 10 on a hole than watch a stiff like Dustin Johnson score a double-eagle.

You’d rather watch Tiger than Dustin and his hot piece of azz wife Paulina Gretzky walk off the course? Seriously??

You’d be stiff like DJ, too, if she was hanging off your arm.

If Tiger gets up on the right side of the bed and his back doesn't hurt and his game comes together, I do root for him. That's going to be a very rare occurrence now. His back is shot and he can rarely swing the way we remember. He isn't the first really good player to have father time and a bad back catch up with him.

No way in hell Nicklaus could ever drive a ball 340 yards with old golf balls and a steel shaft.
Sorry dude, he’s the Goat imo, but his best drives were all less than 300 yards, in his prime.

He was longer than anyone else during his time, just like Tiger was before the back problems and swing changes.

Sorry dude he did. His usual was 290 to 300, but he absolutely did get to 340. Read golf history. That's what's so fricking amazing. I'm with you. It's hard to believe and I have no idea how he did it. Not with that equipment or those balls. I wouldn't have thought it possible. But the facts are there in black and white, he did it more than once, not wind aided and not down hill, and not on concrete fairways that rolled for ever. Hell I was pretty good and modeled my swing after him. Every now and then I could fly it 260 and roll it to 270. Played with some guys who ended up on the tour and was just as long, just not as straight. Very few people were that long then. He was other worldly.

Nope
I’m going to need a link for this one.

I just checked his lifetime stats and in his prime, his drives averaged 260.

Well I stand corrected.
I found this....
“Nicklaus cranked a 341-yard blast to win the PGA Championship’s long drive competition in 1963 with the “old ball.”

Although not in tournament competition he did indeed crank one to 341 yds.

I'll try to find it. One documented was at a long drive contest before the Masters. The damned thing went 341 yards. I saw the video. He wasn't swinging from his heals. He just cranked it up a little more. I remember that one because my jaw dropped when I saw it. His average was where it was because he knew when to unleash it and when not to. With a wide fairway and no trouble look for something approaching 300 yards. I can't find the other link on his club speed. But at something like age 65 years old his speed was just as fast as the young bombers. He just shrugged and blew that off as it was irrelevant. His competitive days were over.

Good God, she’s one of the biggest skanks on the planet, and nothing to look at. I’ll bet she slept with 300 men before settling on dorky Dustin.
