Not nearly as pitiful as your posts. You're just a fanboi type that wouldn't criticize Mullen if he went to midfield in the middle of a game and took a dump.

No one suffers success like Gator fans.

Only Law, Traz, Fooley will argue with you on the offense. They have axes to grind. But "Defense. Not so much."? That's it, nothing more? Until Mullen gets rid of the dwag and recruiting picks up to where it should be, he deserves all the questions that can be slung at him.

I was trying to stay positive while also showing I am being realistic. Mullen inherited a dumpster fire of a program. Strength program was non-existent. Internal programs goals were non-existent. Players were doing whatever they wanted to do. But, he did inherit a team with solid defensive talent. While I really don't think it can be argued that the offense has shown incredible improvement since the moment Mullen stepped on campus, the defense has shown the inverse. It can't be argued in my opinion. The defensive side of the ball has gone to garbage. They don't look well coached. The recruiting is horrible and the portal hasn't done anything for that side of the ball. It is the thing he has to fix. Next year I think we lose a lot of 40something to 30something games.

Imagine where we would be today if Mullen had sent Emery in when Feleipe got hurt

Nothing against Emery but I doubt we would have had the same success

Don't know. A question that really can't be answered. I don't think the picture is anywhere near as dark as you are making it. Jones is a stud.

A couple of things I'd like to point out and then give my opinion.

First off SOS went up against a tougher schedule than any UF coach during most of his time here let alone the first 4 or 5 years. You guys don't remember, UT, Aub., Bama won a natty in 1992, FSU was literally made up of future NFL talent and UGA was solid compared to most of the teams in the east now. Plus SOS was recruiting against FSU and Miami when BOTH OF THEM were at the top of their game....

In my opinion on Mullen I am not sure he won't win a championship or if he will....Remember back in the day(2008-2010) when we all used to laugh at Dabo when he took over at Clemson? Remember at first how he was only known for getting offensive guys on the recruiting trail? Remember laughing at Jimbo when he took over in 2010? At least until he beat us 3 out of the first 4 years and walked off with a natty in his 4th season? And I'm not even going to tell you how many times I laughed at that idiot Oger when LSU named him coach....

I guess my point is CFB changes quicker than ever over the last decade and has evolved in the last 4 or 5 years into a track meet where we see teams scoring 70,80 or more combined points in playoff/championship games which was unheard of in years past. Were getting a good grab of offensive players over the last 2 or 3 years and Mullen is actually a decent play caller minus our usual 1.5 quarter flat spot, but even that disappeared in the Arky game(we never slowed down). I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Sofla still not giving 84 team credit for their season, just like I don't give the '17 Eagles their credit because they were on probation for starting a ginger most of the season.

I was too young to remember at the time. But my grandfather proudly wore a UF hat that read, “To Hell With the SEC” on the back. Even years later. Still shapes how I view things to this day. So no, zero discrediting coming from me on ’84.

But being there at that Uk game in ‘91 was one of my favorite memories in the Swamp. Lots of emotions from a lot of old Gators that day, including that grandfather. So I always consider that one the first.

I've been on the fence this whole time, and I was about 99% on the "we are now Mississippi state east" side of the fence when we went down that 2nd touchdown to UGA a week and a half ago. I'll gladly admit that I was wrong to think that, and that I'm back to 50/50 that this is a good hire.

It's really quite surprising that people are so ready to say we made the right hire, with 2 and a half years of data and no championships. Would love to have one this year, because it feels like this is going to be our best chance for at least a couple of years. I'm going to be unhappy again if we go to Atlanta and get absolutely trashed by Bama like the mac years.

There will be a time for that, and there is a very real chance this season is the highlight of Mullinz career and that poor recruiting makes him continue on a downward trajectory just as it did at Cowbell, but......

Let's just enjoy us looking like Florida football again, even if it is as some fear , temporary.

But at least are now Clowns looking at a decade of 4-6 wins seasons, huh?

We haven't had any "success" since 2008. That's a long effing time.

1. Florida just beat Georgia and dropped 60 against a SEC opponent for the first time since before my youngest child was born. That team was lead by a former QB that shushed The Swamp.
2. It is November and Florida is still alive in both the SEC title hunt and CFP and Bama's pass defense looks nearly as suspect as TG's offensive defense. (hat tip Rog)
3. FSU is a smoldering landfill that we, along with the rest of the nation, get to watch descend into a new fresh hell every week. This week they play Clemson who is coming off a loss prior to a bye week. It's Tuesday and Clemson is already up by 70.
4. Christmas is coming.

Find a little joy man. Life is short and the journey is part of the fun. Sure we need a new DC. Yes, Trask is gone after this year. Everything else is speculation and cynicism.

I have plenty of joy, I'm enjoying the games. Just stating a fact that's it's been 12 years since UF won a SEC or a NC, with some really bad seasons since. It's natural for the fan base to be a little beaten down and negative, I would think.

Our Butters "made it to the title game but lost" signs say otherwise, screams success!

Even when winning games in the Chimp and Butters years, they were unwatchable, horrible. I've done what I can to erase those years from my mind.

1. Defensive numbers, especially passing, are hugely inflated this year. Teams in the SEC are giving up 50-60 or more YPG than last year. Bama gave 187 YPG passing last year, 260 so far this year (same as UF).

2. Mullen has changed the culture of the program very much for the better.

3. The improvements on the OL and in the WR corps are impressive. Billy G. and Hevesy are excellent coaches.

4. If/when we do win something, this doesn’t feel like a one-off program like Cam at AU. It’s moving in the right direction but the Gator Standard is championships.

this is a point I've been hearing and reading a lot lately on the NFL scouting front. That this year is hard to judge quarterbacks due to the bad defenses. Saying outside the top two Lawrence/Fields the scouts are a mixed bag on what to believe of what they are seeing from the quarterbacks this year.

2. Mullen has changed the culture of the program very much for the better.

We can all agree, the culture was going to be the biggest improvement when he was coming in and that is an area he has done better than expected.

3. The improvements on the OL and in the WR corps are impressive. Billy G. and Hevesy are excellent coaches.

Amazing what a real wide receivers coach (been almost a decade before Billy G) and a good S&C can do comparatively.

4. If/when we do win something, this doesn’t feel like a one-off program like Cam at AU. It’s moving in the right direction but the Gator Standard is championships.

This will be the real key, is it a a one off like 2012 which a number of people where celebrating as the start of a run or the start the norm.
