In all seriousness, why would a good established coach go to USC? You can't win there, everyone knows it. It's similar to a Ole Miss/MSU situation. Your only hope is to get lucky with lightning in a bottle with a young, unproven up-and-comer. And then enjoy it, because he'll leave as soon as he can.

I think they might go for the get lucky. However, if they get that lightning, it could end up biting us in the ass at least once.

That's true. My point was, someone like Freeze is going to have his pick of quite a few decent jobs. South Carolina doesn't have a chance in hell at landing him. You can't win there and he knows it.

If he doesn't know it he probably deserves tp be there...

He could wait a year for TN too.

Hugh Freeze is going to Michigan. His offense is exactly what they've been screaming for. He's already been rejected by the SEC. His buyout at liberty ain't gonna be nothin for em.

He's doing a helluva job at Central Michigan. I just hope the Cocks don't wake up to what a great hire McElwain could be for them. If they realize, counting his time at Bama, he coached in more SECCG and NC games than any active coach in the SEC not named Saban, that could mean real trouble for us. Man, I hope they don't figure all this out.

Please don’t toy with my sanity.

Right. It’s like Ole Miss. Your ceiling is the Outback Bowl, unless you can radically improve recruiting, but that would require...

I like how there's articles out there suggesting Freeze to USC is a done deal (or.."makes sense"), as if USC has the upper hand and will be able to pick and choose who they want.

That would be a good move for Michigan. I've also been saying Freeze to Va Tech makes sense. I don't think Freeze comes back to the SEC unless the money is too good to pass up. He may want a 5 year deal where no matter what happens, he pockets $30 million then calls it a day. Otherwise he'll wait for a very good job (Michigan, Texas, Va Tech, Penn State, Oklahoma).

we were sleeping giant because we had most talent in the southeast right at home in the state of Florida. Basically we have enough talent to support 5 elite teams, or two or three elite teams and a skill player core of several other elite teams across the country.

There is almost no talent in SC. They have the same chance as Ole Miss I guess.

Fuchs you. And fuchs that disturbing avatar you've adopted - and I don't care if it is paying off a bet.

I never said they should win 12-13 games per year. I said they have been underperforming and are capable of better.

USCe sits in a state that produces top 15 or so HS talent each year - admittedly which Clemmy likely takes the best of. They are proximate to GA, NC, coastal VA and they have tentacles (not testicles) in FL because of their conference affiliation. So based on geography, they should be able to produce at least top 20-25 recruiting classes. Add to that all of the other falderal in my previous post - facilities, fan base, stadium, loose academics.... With the right HC, these guys should at least win 8-9 games per year with the occasional 11 wins or so run they had under an aged and clearly slipping SOS.

Clearly, you were drunk-posting again. I will add you and your clearly sclerotic liver to my prayers.
