One of my co-workers referees baseball/softball as a side job. He really enjoys it. I thought about doing it a few years ago so he hooked me up with one of the people that arranges that for the local peewee, middle school, and high school teams. The guy told me that if you really put the time in that you can easily work your way up to even calling college games. Doing that you get paid (at the time) about $600 per game plus travel expenses and accommodations. So if I were to call an SEC softball series that would be three days away from home paid. My wife told me she didn't want me to do even the local school/peewee games.

So it sounds like you need to sign up to do this immediately!

Well, her meaning was that we don't have a lot of time together as it is because when I'm not at work, I'm doing some type of work on the side which keeps me away from the family. She wants more of that time... But you have a point too though... ;)

Probably why you are still her husband and/or she is still your wife. :fistbump:

Occasionally I get to travel for my job. So far I've been to Kauai, HI two times and Kodiak, AK once among other places. I have so far been unable to get her to go even though she wants to. (long story...) There is a chance that I may get to go to both locations again in 2021 so if I do I'm hopeful that I can take not just her but maybe the two boys still at home as well.

Being retired for some years perhaps my post is not worth much. I have had a plan for both the financial and activities in retirement.

The financial plan worked fine, the activities not so much. The financial plan has been reduced due to Covid and I bet due to say Biden in the future. That said we will be fine but somethings will be eliminated.

Activity plan as follows:

Move to Florida - Finally worked took somewhat longer than it should because I refused to own two houses at the same time.

In Florida live a more active life especially in the winter - Partially worked as I now have a pool to do my pool therapy in. Partially not due to decline in my physical conditioning. I was thinking of getting a tricycle but if I bought it and did not use it that would be very bad.

Be nearer some relatives to do things with them. Mostly failed due to Covid and the relatives insisting on their political views. I had planned to visit some things in Florida but Covid, its financial impact, and my lessened ability to walk stopped that.

I also thought I could do some consulting. This worked only a minimal amount before I moved, nothing now.

I have a variety of interests that I still do and some that I have taken up due to Covid and politics reducing some.

I read quite a bit, Kindle Unlimited works there for me.
I do internet stuff, Gators, news from various locations, and advice columns.
I watch and follow various business type shows like Varney, Maria, etc.
I have made some history of myself and my family documents. Places I have lived, visited, family tree, etc.
I started watching old TV shows, Gunsmoke, Adam-12, etc. (As an aside I saw episode 1 of Gunsmoke and saw it had an introduction from John Wayne which I enjoyed).
I belong to several local facebook groups to keep up on things that are happening in SW Florida.
I also enjoy animated series for children (yes I know) there are several that I watch regularly.
I am in charge of our investments, paying bills and keeping us solvent, that takes some time each week.
Due to Covid I do all the shopping.

If this helps I appreciate it, if not that was my expectation.
