Texture was good - same as I’d get from the grill. The big difference is that the cook was consistent everywhere...middle, ends, edges....it was all medium rare everywhere. That was cool. The other thing is that it remained very juicy since it cooks long term in its juices, so the filet especially was super tender. It would be good to get a “char” on it from the grill. That’s the only thing I was missing.

Guess it’s getting too cold in Denver to be grilling. Sounds like a nice alternative. Seedy cooked our filets med rare and lobsters on the BS. The butter crust was perfect on the steak. We decided that if Thanksgiving is going to be so different then we would do surf and turf.

Didn’t have horseradish so I made cocktail sauce with spicy ketchup and siracha. It was good!

Looks delicious. Tried to talk my wife into something like this last year when we were unable to travel like normal because of being a few weeks from our due date. I wanted to do a low country or something. Shot it down in a heartbeat and we had to do a Turkey for two.

Then you have my 8 year old that only eats pancakes at Thanksgiving as it’s something my mother in law started with him when he was two. She makes him fresh pancakes to go along with the rest of the spread and it’s their little tradition.

Thanks
I love the pancake tradition! Something they will always share.
My FIL always started thanksgiving and Christmas morning cooking with two fingers of Old Grandad bourbon “for medicinal purposes.” Probably more because he had 8 kids. He passed two years ago but on our zoom call this morning several raised a toast to him with a shot of bourbon.

We had a family Thanksgiving at Lake Seminole. All the traditional foods...

There were 15 of us and we set up to eat outside under the sheltered area. Thanksgiving is all about the family.

Made Caesar dressing from scratch a few days ago, so decided to make themed Caesar Salads the last few evenings.

Really surprised to see you went with McCormick’s Montreal Steak seasoning. That thing just need fresh ground salt & pepper.
