In mocks I've seen this week (Nov 24th-Nov 30th), Trask has been as high as 23rd pick (5th quarterback taken) and as low as the middle of the 2nd round (7th quarterback taken). He has been called a less athletic Andrew Luck or a weaker armed Ben Rothlisberger.

The positives I've seen most often:
Maturity/Leadership (always top of the list)
Intelligence
Accuracy
Timing
Pre-snap reads and line calls

The issues I've seen most often:
indecisiveness
questionable or inconsistency mechanics
lacking arm strength (half his total incompletions are from deep out-routes (15+ yards) through the Kentucky game)
A third of his completions are on go-routes (also through the Kentucky game), which is a negative to a qb draft grade, but positive to the receivers draft grade

The NFL execs that continue to watch a guy throw the ball in Indianapolis and fail to watch his games or watch the competition, deserve what they get. Continue to pick guys like Dwayne Haskins, Mitch Tribisky, Akili Smith or Carson Wentz and hope for the best.

They have the ND State QB (Trey Lance) as the #3 QB in the draft. His numbers are comparable in his one year of starting in 1AA as Trasks are in his 2 years of playing in the SEC.

I'm with you and @Homer J . I don't get the Trey Lance love either. From the viewpoint of the execs, Trask has a few problems.

1. His arm strength.
2. His lack of mobility.
3. His inability to throw off-platform.

Point 3 is a big deal because of Mahomes. No one is better at it. QBs like Lamar Jackson, Kyler Murray, and Russell Wilson make point 2 a big deal. Nevermind the best QBs in nfl history aren't very mobile. Trask may get hurt because he isn't strong in the areas that are in vogue at the moment.

Point two and three have been important especially the last decade with the increase of speed at DL. You don't have to be fast, but have to be functionally quick (ie Brady, Brees). And throwing off platform just because of the angles to get around the DL, which like you said Mahomes is the master of.

He is really going to get hurt from lack of consistent mechanics because of the players before him with that criticism, Trubisky, Wentz, etc..., it also reduces his arm strength because he doesn't go all the way through his throws.

This is why I believe the 26-27-60 rule is kind of important. Getting a 26 on the Wonderlic shows a kid can process information quickly. 27 games started in college shows a good sample size of in game data. At least 60% career passes complete, for obvious reasons... through that number probably should be 65% in this era of football.

To be fair, Wuerrfel's stats do not include SECCG or bowl.

Also, SOS preferred to score 50 quickly and let Danny sit the 4th quarter.

Also to be fair, Wuerffel didnt have an OC who wanted to run the option and sideways passing.

True, but to also be fair, Trask is playing with a 10-game, all SEC schedule. So if he hits 40 in Atlanta or earlier, then that's a pretty legit way to break his record. Of course, if Trask maintains his average, then he'll break it in fewer games.

Wuerffel's stats do include the the SECCG. On all his stats it shows the stats as accumulated over 12 games. UF played 11 regular season games in 1996 and the 12th game was the SECCG. You can also go game by game if you want to take trouble.
