My only game all year, and only recruit I know by face. So I’m not sure how the others have been reacting to it, but he didn’t seem like the normal recruit at a game and I imagine it’s universal. But yeah, it was cool but not cold at least.

We also need a FB/RB good for 2 yrds...80-90% of the time. And a DL "Road Grader" that takes a double team most of the time.

We got Bowman. He’s not the bruiser you describe but a great get. As for DT - are you saying another plug like the Armwood kid? I wouldn’t argue if so, but I do like the one we got.

To minimize Mullen's QB accomplishments is silly. .
Dafuq has he accomplished?

He has gone once in three years to Atlanta to get gangraped by Trailerbammer, which McElstain did twice in his first two years.

I do t remember him ever being a 3* but he certainly was not originally a 5* i believe he was a high 4 but he’ll that was 13 years ago
Almost no one is originally a 5 star. Perhaps no one. I havent looked that closely. Obviously they start making final decisions after the senior season.

It would be idiotic to do so before hand w a 15-16 yo.

They start handing out 5 stars to some select juniors but there’s not many

He can’t read, bro. Hard for Mullen to detect that over Zoom. We got a replacement immediately. I’m good with that.

Wait til Gardner finds out Jackson State isn’t in Jacksonville.
to be fair I didn't know or care either

He is aggressive and gets some pancake blocks sheds defenders and goes upfield to look for blocking opportunities...much better than Strickland imo

He’s odd in that for a very big guy he keeps his feet moving really well and quickly on run plays. I’d take that over Andrew Mike type stand and be tall guys all day. That dissipates a bit in pass protection. Maybe he just doesn’t know how to control being bigger and stronger while not using forward advancement.

But, he seems like a high ceiling guy who could potentially be a plus inside even if he doesn’t develop outside. Based on film, even with the flaws he looks better than Gardner. Was he awful in camps? Why did we wait this long with the other mediocre tales we’ve had on the OL this cycle?

It just seems to me QBs should be beating down Mullen's door and they're not. I don't think it's personality.

Stop it. Don’t make me spit out my whiskey.

I do think that CDM's recruiting problems derive from his personality. He has trouble dealing with cocky 5 stars and that is doubled in spades with cocky, high recruited QBs. Notice that he has no trouble recruiting them after their cockiness has been knocked out of them at another school.

Yeah his antics and remarks this year really made me realize how he doesn’t seem to be all that attractive as a personality

A few weeks ago, I saw a gator beat writer say Mullen is more like Chip Kelly. He enjoys coaching and the Xs and Os, but dislikes recruiting. If that is true, Mullen will never have an elite class.

Those are not pancacke blocks - those are pancake tackles. They will call holding at the next level.
